Agnostics claim either that it is not possible to have absolute or certain knowledge of the existence or nonexistence of God or gods; or, alternatively, that while individual certainty may be possible, they personally have no knowledge.

I liked my agnostic teachers' explanation that they shared with me. They said that it takes faith to believe in God, but it also takes faith to believe there is no god. They do not put faith in either direction and say "you can't know for sure". In a sense, yes, we are all agnostics- at least in this life. Even the most devout believer has shreds of doubt about God, and even the most ardent atheist has some part of him that is inclined to believe in a Higher Power and wonder what could be out there.

Words are very powerful.

The term "agnostic" means that a person doubts the existence of God.

While one may argue that NO person has "absolute" or "certain" knowledge of God, the reality is that many people have a "strong enough" faith that they don't consider themselves agnostic in the slightest. I am one such Christian.

Technically, yes.

In reality, no.

“Well, technically, you cannot be any more than an agnostic. But I am as agnostic about God as I am about fairies and the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You cannot actually disprove the existence of God. Therefore, to be a positive atheist is not technically possible. But you can be as atheist about God as you can be atheist about Thor or Apollo. Everybody nowadays is an atheist about Thor and Apollo. Some of us just go one god further. ”

as an Agnostic i say you can have "God" concepts up the wazoo and not even begin to approach absolute accuracy of what "God" is. closest i sense of the strange complexities that "God" might be is in quantum mechanics and string theory.

but of course before you can seek accuracy you have to have some kind of clue how define what you're seeking. there is no consensus on the definition of "God", what defines some thing that is all things (and nothing) to all people. and why would only human definitions and concepts apply to what "God" may be? humans ... those barely evolved primates milling around on a teeny planet amid billions of galaxies.

i have "God" concepts but i don't believe in any of them as an absolute Truth. they are merely my present symbols of Truth. i am only a barely evolved primate. i can't be expected to conceptualize The Truth when it encompasses not only the universe in which billions of galaxies swirl but perhaps other universes far outside my comprehension.

I consider myself agnostic and it is because I believe in evolution and even though I have no proof a god I still feel as though there may be one.

No. Agnostics claim that we can't know ANYTHING about the existence of god or gods.

No. I am an atheist. I do not believe in the supernatural. It is either natural or doesn't exist outside peoples imagination.

You answered your own question if you have ever spoken with a Christian or an Atheist, as they are the polar-opposites of one another, and agnosticism fits right in the middle.

I really just wanted to type "I wish we were all wishy washy" try it, it's fun

My love to the Agnostics, you're almost there.....
