Putting your personal faith or beliefs aside; when you spend the time to answer a question, coming to the defense of someone who is being ridiculed, taking the time to carefully word your response, checking your punctuation and grammar, finally satisified that it is the best you can make it,hitting the submit button, only to discover the question has been deleted?

Yes. Very much. Why would one rescend a question? I usually only respond to questions for which I have some thing I think is of value to contribute - and I do take time to carefully consider my answers.

Anyway - thanks for letting me vent and whine for a moment. have a great night.

Yes, it happens a lot. I think it is because I am loathed to report my fellow Yahoos, so I dare to answer awful questions that really SHOULD be deleted, either by the asker or the big Yahoo in the sky.

I try extra hard on the really challenging questions like that, exactly as you say "taking the time to carefully word your response", It angers me that I wasted my time.

The solution is to allow questioners who are a bit "over the top" to go unanswered, "letting them stew in their own juice", as it were.

Often when we are mad at the other guy for deleting we are really mad at our-self for wasting time on him.

Some times, if you stop and think about it, deleting that question was wiser than asking it in the first place!!

Like I taught me son ... "when some one seems to be mad at you, it is often not really about you. Don't take it personally. You probably did nothing wrong. It is all about them. Maybe their real frustration is that their banker is on their back, or they were just nice to their spouse when they wanted to give an angry answer, and so they blew their steam on you...like being balled out by the boss, and finding an excuse to kick the cat when you get home."

Never take things personally. People get mad when they see the faults that they themselves have, and hate themselves for not improving.

The bible says "remove the speck in your OWN eye."

More to the point of your question, the bible also says: "Do not throw your 'pearls' before swine". Well said. Don't waste pearls of wisdom on the idiots!

Mentally frustrated

That is frustrating. If it was removed because it was not in good taste, that is one thing, but to remove a question by the asker soon after entering it is rude. It is very aggravating for me to have that done to me.

EDIT: It was brought up earlier that this is a sounding board instead of questions. I have been asked why I have not asked a question and I have found no question that I cannot find the answer either in my library or on the internet. It is NOT supposed to be a soundingboard but seeking answers.

Yes, Yahoo! Answers puts far too much power in the hands of the Asker. Then again, this is supposed to be a tool for getting answers to questions -- NOT A DISCUSSION BOARD.

Very much so, I understand why everyone should have the option of deleting so I can 't complain too much. But I hate when it happens.

Eh, stuff happens. Lots of what I do feels pointless. Sometimes shift happens. If not for those wasted moments, then the beautiful ones wouldn't matter.

Yes I really do feel that way and sometimes it hurts my feelings to see this happen. It is sometimes a complete waste of not only my time but to everybody else's time. That also really annoys me to see this happen and it probably annoys everybody else too.
