Would you go? Why or why not?

I personally wouldn't go. Weddings are intimate celebrations of the union between those two people, and while they may extend the invitation to people they don't know too well, I think it's more appropriate to invite people you know and family members. I've been to plenty of distant cousin weddings, but I think that's different because they are at least family.

Well, firstly l would think that it was somewhat odd, seeing they are not close friends.Did you receive this invitation because you are a friend of a friend.lt is up to you if you go,but sometimes people are just looking for a present.l am not saying these people are,but this does happen.l guess you have to make up your own mind here as to why you received the invite.

That one girl is wrong wrong wrong. You are NOT obligated to send a gift to strangers who've invited you to a shower! If you know some people who are going, I'd say go, but if not a nice card will suffice.

I do not go to things like that if I don't know the people. To me, they are just looking for more gifts.

It would be odd, might make me feel like they were asking for gifts. I would not go, but would send a nice card.

probably not the baby shower, but yes to a wedding depending on who they were - eg alot of people will invite their boss and their partner or something like that....i think it really depends on how indirectly you know them!

I'd go. People always remember who went to their shower and who didn't go. If you don't go, you're still obligated to send a gift, so why not go and hopefull get some good food and possibly a cool favor out of it?

I would go. These occasions would be a nice venue to get to know them better, meet old and new friends, and hopefully enough to make you close to them. it will not hurt to make new friends and be close to old ones at all.

Maybe would go, maybe wouldn't. I'd feel flattered to be asked probably.

People do it all the time.

Some want to enjoy their celebration with many while others plainly want more gifts.
