Someone has to get over their shyness. Why be shy what is the worst thing that can happen. You can ask him to do something with you or ask him to go on a date. He can say no or hell no or probably yes. If he says no then you know he is not for you. If he says yes then you go out and find things to talk about, don't just sit there and look at each other. Talk about school, the team, mutual friends, teachers, ambitions, funny things that have happened in your life, difficult times you have had. That is enough to last you 2-3 dates, by then you should have found more thinks to talk about and do.

well, they only thing I can say is, go for it. I know it seems hard at first but like I did with my man now, I had to step it up and tell him how I felt and it was really hard for me, but in the end, by me telling him how I felt about him, he had feelings for me too, and by not telling this guy the way you feel, you might miss out on the love of your life. Because I know if I wouldnt have made a move, I would have lost the love of my life and the best thing thats ever happened to me!!!

Go for it! You dont want to let something pass you by that you really want or you'll end up regretting it in the future and ALWAYS wonder what would have happened.
