How does salvation have anything to do with accepting Jesus as your saviour? Is it really that crucial? What is the harm of saving people who have not accepted Jesus as their saviour?

Please answer the above before proceeding to read the following "follow up" question below the rigged line. DON'T CHEAT!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

You have just mentioned to me why it absolutely necessary to accept Jesus as your saviour in order to be saved. So what about unborn babies, people who died before Jesus came, and those who live and lived in remote areas of the world with absolutely no knowledge of Jesus. Is it suddenly ok not to accept Jesus as your saviour in order to be saved?

*Please note that accepting Jesus on Judgement Day is not applicable. Cause' on JD Jesus will appear in front on them and make Himself obvious, thus not accepted Him by faith.

Da Ent Wife, did you answer my question?

It's hilarious how you "make up" your own justications out of thin air. But what you all forgot is that, if people were sent to face Jesus and make a decision from there, they aren't accepting Jesus on faith anymore! Isn't that the point? To accept Jesus on faith?

So you're trying to bargain your way to Heaven are you? If you really wanted to trick people you should have done it in two separate questions, one linked to the other.

Now here's the rub, all the those "exceptions" you mentioned -- they don't apply to you. You have heard the name Jesus Christ and you will be held accountable for every thought, word and deed of your life.

I admit I cheated, but I also admit I used to unwrap my Christmas presents and then re-wrap them before the big day.

Ok I totally cheated, I read the whole thing. Just wanted to admit it before I began.

Ok this might be a little long so, sorry. I've said this before, but Original Sin (Adamic Sin) was not about forbidden fruit, but about rebellion from God. This opened up the entire human race to Sin.
God is merciful, but he also must judge the unrighteous. We as humans, because of Sin are unrighteous. However, being that Jesus was put on the Cross, completely Sinless, the perfect sacrifice, His Blood covers our Sin and makes us righteous in the sight of the Lord.
Without Jesus, there is no forgiveness, no redemption, we have no access to God. Jesus is the bridge between humanity and God. Therefore, if you don't accept Jesus for who he is, you can not have a relationship with God, and you can not be saved.

As to your second question ( I said this would be long), you can not say that accepting Him on Judgement day is not applicable. That is not for us to decide.
Also, God gives everyone an opportunity, be it in the third world or not, to get to know Jesus, whether it be before we die, or directly after. Afterall, he is a merciful and fair God.
That's why we love Him.

Jesus was the ONLY ONE who died for our sins. Jesus was the ONLY ONE to rise from the dead on the third day. So He is the ONLY ONE qualified to save us from our sins.

IN the Old Testament (which prophesied the coming of the Messiah), i.e.before Jesus came to die for the sins of the world, the Old Testament saints were accepted by God because of their faith in Jehovah, e.g. Noah, Abraham, King David, etc.

Aborted babies, children who died young, etc. will reach heaven by God's grace.

The rest, i.e. those who lived in remote areas & have never heard the gospel, will be judged according to their works.

to be honest i don't like your choice of word cause accepting jesus is nothing... you know that satan himself accepts jesus so what good does that do you...
I will say that you heart must be surrended life to God and your actions toward Gods word and having the faith of who God is and that Jesus came to cleasen you of your sins. You must take up your cross no matter how hard the road and follow Jesus leaving everything that you were behind...
Accepting jesus is not enough no matter when it is whether it be on Judgement Day or today.... you must also be a follower of Christ.
and as for the people whodied before jesus they had the god's law writing out for them as we do in the bible they are held accountable and for the people in remote areas of the world the bible says that we all have the word of god writing on our hearts. it's that the sins of man block out the voice of God. for all we know those tribes could be christian already cause god spoke to them some how... like moses and the burning bush... you never know.

Jesus is the only one that can atone for our sins. There simply is no other mechanism to save us from our sins. So if you reject Jesus you have rejected your only hope for salvation.

Your follow up question:

Jesus said this. "As you do unto the least of these you have done to me." We all accept or reject Jesus even if we don't know that we did. It's not about how much theological knowledge we might have. Thus even if you never heard about Jesus, God will send you Jesus and you will make your decision from the heart if not the mind.

For example is there a person that you cheated or ripped off? Well that was Jesus. So when you show up before God on Judgement day God is going to say "you cheated me and ripped me off." You'll say when did I do this to you Lord? Jesus will say when you did it to this person you did it to me. Understand? Perhaps you were kind to someone that nobody liked. Jesus will say, when nobody wanted me you were there for me. You will say, when was I there for you Lord? Jesus will say when you were there for this person you were there for me. Can you see how Jesus is there even if you didn't know it? It's true, there will be no excuses you will be found out if you were for Jesus or against Him.

Don't think you are going to outsmart God. If you reject Christ you are simply going to die in your sins. I can't make it any more clear for you than that. You have heard about Jesus, allow God to take care of those that never had the chance you have.

1) Jesus said No one can come to the father except though me"
2) People who lived before Jesus ans those who have never heard of Jesus " have the word written on their hearts" in other words God has made Himself known to them to some degree and in someway of they will listen and obey it. . Unborn children ,just as children below the age of consent are not considered able to make moral judgements and are therefore not considered responsible for their actions.

Because that's what Jesus said,

17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."
( John 3 )

So what does that mean to you. God condemns someone. Who? And who does God not condemn?

Okay, I will read the next part . . .
My answer: Unless you are an unborn baby, you do not have any other option. So that part is moot. You nor I are unborn babies.

People who died before Jesus is something that Jesus talked about. Those who heard his voice
( John 5 ), were raised, those who did not are raised condemned.

Those who did not hear about Him are not you. So your point is moot.

moot
–adjective
1.open to discussion or debate; debatable; doubtful: a moot point.
2.of little or no practical value or meaning; purely academic.

What you are asking, in case you didn't know, is about fairness. As in your judgment as to what is fair. That's something that is not a part of Christianity. When it comes to people vs. people, fairness should be and typically is applied. But from the standpoint of God vs. People, God is the owner of the people. Those who do not accept that are dealt with according to what He has already said. For those who do recognize His ownership over them, He will deal with them as He has already said.

The main thrust of this is: You and I don't get to make the rules for God to follow, He does.

Jesus who is God in the flesh came to the earth to become the only sacrifice that God would accept for OUR sins.

Jesus death was for everyone. He died for those who have never heard of Him. He died for those who can not mentally understand His sacrifice and that they have sinned For both of those situations there is God's grace to cover those people.

There are those who have heard about Him and are capable of either accepting His free offer of love for them, or rejecting Him. He died for them also. However if one rejects His offering and love, He does not force salvation on them. His salvation in this respect, is for those who choose Him as their Lord and their Savior.

To keep tribal cohesiveness.

Do you really think the bible would say "you know, just do whatever?" It's dogma, buddy. It's supposed to provide unity within the group. It's promotes a simple Us and Them dichotomy. If you ain't with us, you're against us. Any ideology that depends on this is dangerous. Communism, for example, eschews anything that does not abide by the rigid rules of communist ideology. Basically, if there aint room to move, get the hell outta there!

The idea as I understand it, is that God sent his son to earth as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, all the naughty things we have ever done,His son paid the debt for us .So if we acknowledge the paid off debt by his son,(ransom sacrifice) God will be so inclined to let us off then hook for our sins. One more condition though, you have to forgive those who sin against you.Voila, saved!
I don't feel qualified to defend the legends and fairy tales of the Christian faith. The earliest symbol of a Christian was a fish, not a cross. That was how Christians identified themselves. The letters of the Greek word for fish formed an anagram,Jesus-Christ -son -of -God -Savior.Anybody who says the above is a Christian I believe.Organized religion is like organized crime. The christian church did the bloody crusades, the holy bloody inquisition, and today the Roman Catholic Church is the worlds' largest child molestation ring!
That said,I am a confirmed episcopalian and my church is inclusive and gay friendly, having elected and consecrated an openly gay butt f**k** bishop! It's a great place to network,I got my lawyer through my church for example!
