For me it is that my co-worker (a Pastor's daughter) and my boss (whose daughter is a regional director for Campus Crusade for Christ) have no idea I'm an Atheist. I don't hide it but...it's just never come up in conversation. I don't chime in a lot when they talk about prayer but then...to announce "I think that's all bunk!" would be rude.

What would surprise people on here about you?

Well I'm not sure about people on here but I can relate to you. I just so happen to be a member of Campus Crusade for Christ at my college. The funny thing is that I'm a Messianic Jew and I don't celebrate any of the Christian holidays (such as Christmas, Easter, Sunday worship, etc). I have told some people that I am Messianic, but most don't even realize that I don't show up for any of the Christian holiday programs. I think a lot would be surprised to find out that I believe that celebrating Christmas is a contaminated way of worship and a flat out abomination to God/Jesus.

I guess the fact that I will be 70 in a few weeks.....Heck I can't even believe that one -- have never colored my hair, don't wear any makeup and just celebrated 34 years of marriage to one of the cutest loving smartest Atheists I know, who by the way, is 11 years my junior. Oh yes, I still enjoy sex and no, I don't believe it is a sin. But what has any of this have to do with religion and spiriuality.

Hmmm - most can look at my profile and see I'm a disabled veteran and most have probably figured I'm heathen.

How about..... I used to be 240 lbs and now I'm 130 (I lost 110 lbs in 9 months - I put 20 on because I got too sick and thin). I'm 5'4"

Added Orpheus! I'm a metal head and I think Alice Cooper is god (I've seen him several times, enough to say hello and get an autograph) and love horror movies! Have to pass on the rap though. Dead Kennedys, anyone?

Nothing at all--I am a pretty boring person, and I really don't have much to hide. Either people accept me at face value, or they don't--either way, it doesn't change who I am.

Oh, I fast roped out of a helicopter once, and beat a bunch of Rangers up a mountain on a 12 mile road march. To look at me, you would never guess, I am all old and soft and droopy now. Just an old woman

Without going into detail (as those details would get my account deleted before I was even finished typing) I will say this however...there are certain...oh..call them fetishes...concerning certain substances that I have an appetite for and for a couple of things of a more...shall we say...intimate nature...things that most would balk at simply due to societal conditioning on what is and isn't taboo.

I too am a veteran, disabled 100% for depression, did 20 years in the USAF, and I don't fling nearly as much poo as I did during my career. And I'm all alone.

That's awesome - I used to do tech support for Campus Crusade in Orlando :)

And I'm not dumb enough to type what would surprise you all the most about me - thank God it's forgiven and covered by the blood of Jesus... *shudder*

Oh here's a safe one - my uncle was a homosexual before being gay was "in" and he has HIV - and here's the kicker - I love him :)

Hmm, I don't know. Maybe the extent to which I passionately love bad horror movies and old punk, metal and rap. LOL, it's true though.

I think many would be surprised to learn that I've been with the same woman for 16 years.
