Firstly you need to eat more fresh and whole foods such as fresh fruit and vegies, nuts and seeds, lean meats and fishes, skimmed milks and dairy and loads of fresh filtered water,
*How about just drinking more fresh filtered water. The happiest and healthiest body will always be a hydrated one;
*Cutting right back on caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea, sodas and soft drinks and also alcohol as these will only serve to dehydrate you further. ie: one cup of coffee will make your body excrete 2 cups of water!! the caffeine tricks our brains into thinking that we have an ample water supply, hence the extra peeshing when you have caffeine. sodas and soft drinks are worse with an excretion rate of 1 can of soda equalling 12 cups of water!
*Increase your intake of vitamin C rich foods as vitamin C is a natural laxative ie: citrus fruits, lemons, limes, oranges, tomatoes, potatoes and capsicums and green and leafy vegies;
*Increase your intake of magnesium rich foods as magnesium will naturally help in eliminating constipation. magnesium is known as the anti stress mineral and is needed in the human body for healthy veins and arteries and heart health.
Magnesium rich foods are -: leafy and green vegies, nuts and seeds, wholegrains and cereals, cold water fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines and whiting. the magnesium encourages the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, thus aiding digestion.
* Also take a good digestive tablet or pro-biotic powder with your main meals on a daily basis as this will recolonise your gut with the good bacteria........... this will make the world of difference.
* Pinpoint any allergies you may have to foods and drinks that you may be ingesting ie: lactose intolerance.

RE:
Straining during Bowel Movement?
I've been straining my entire life when it comes to bowel movement. I try 2 eat Fiber & all that good stuff but I end up eating alot of fast food junk. My friend told me straining is unhealthy & I could have a Heart Attack or Hernia. Do u think that's true?

If you already had heart problems you obviously wouldn't want to be straining like that. You must increase your fiber intake and water intake especially. Also increasing your activity will help. If you ever have a feeling like you are constipated but you have a liquid-like stool that could mean you have an impaction. Try taking metamucil but don't take any laxatives unless your doctor prescribes them because you can become dependent on them. Eating a bunch of fast food junk will not help this problem at all.

I don't know about straining causing a heart attack or stroke, but I do know that excessive straining can increase your risk for hemarroids. Do you drink lots of water? That will help with lots of health issues including bowel movements.

I don't believe it will give you a heart attack but you could get a hernia. It also causes small ruptures on the outside of the colon. These ruptures form little pockets that can fill with poop and get infected. This is remarkably painful!
Getting the little ruptures is diverticulosis and when it becomes infected it's diverticulitis. Once you start getting that you'll be more careful about your diet, believe me. I;m much more careful about getting enough fiber now. It's really not that hard if you just pay a little attention to what you're eating. Fast food will kill you, fiber or not.

well fast food is very low in fiber so it will collect in your colon. (impacted colon) matter can get collected on your intestinal walls thus making you strain more when you go to the bathroom.
stay away from those foods and get more fiber in your diet.
plus if you have thin like stool you could have a bowel obstruction which could lead to colon cancer

yes, you can hurt yourself in all sorts of ways by straining.
Why not just eat healthy foods and then you won't have that problem anymore?
Juices or foods (such as apple, pear, peach, etc.), pepsi, coffee, lettuce, cabbage, etc. are just to name a few that will make you regular. You don't have to eat prunes, but raisins are great.

1. Go see a doctor and make sure you don't have a life-threatening disease like colon cancer.
2. Drink more water.
