All pains you mentioned are from different aspects. I think every pain you mentioned are severe in its own. Consider this...
Physical Pain--The most severe pain as considered is fire burn...have you ever heard about 3rd degree burn?
Mental Pain--Enormous mental pain can make humans to commit suicide.
Emotional Pain--I think recovering from this pain is the easiest from other. I am not talking about the time span it takes.
Social Pain--Humans are social in nature....Social pain will lead to Emotional pain and then to Mental Pain.

The pain i have this moment, it is a paper cut on my finder.
Over a period we have mechanism to overcome any pain.
Ask a prospective mother, it will be the labor pain. She will protest, and promise to never go through it again. Ask the same question after 10 days the pain is forgotten, in the pleasure of new baby.
So physical pain in temporary.
Emotional - Mental pain, are due to value system and self inflicted. It is difficult and needs help from others. You need a strong support, or conviction to get over this.
Social pain is location related. If the friend you have jilted you you can find new friends. This is possible in today mobile society. It might be severe in olden days, or in small communities.
We are our best enemy, we beat ourself silly. Emotional, mental pain is the severest.

I am voting for e. Why ?
If you want hear what a real pain means and what we should cry for , then hear what Sri Chaitnya Mahaprabhu says -
ayi nanda-tanuja kinkaram
patitam mam visame bhavambudhau
krpaya tava pada-pankaja-
sthita-dhuli-sadrsam vicintaya
"O son of Maharaja Nanda (Krsna), I am Your eternal servitor, yet somehow or other I have fallen into the ocean of birth and death. Please pick me up from this ocean of death and place me as one of the atoms of Your lotus feet."
Jai Mahaprabhu !
Our real pain is that we have this human form of body which is very much fragile and temporary. All the other pains you mentioned are due to the existance of this body.
If I do not have a material body I do not have to suffer from such pains. But having that knowledge does not make any sense as some how or other we are attached to this body and came to this part of the universe and we have to live our life-span.
So what to do to avoid such pain ? Sukhdev Goswami in Srimad Bhagavam has a solution to that where he says depending on the Lord in all our activities can protect us from all pains and miseries in our life.
He says -
tasmÄd ekena manasÄ
bhagavÄn sÄtvatÄmÌ patihÌ£
ÅrotavyahÌ£ kÄ«rtitavyaÅ ca
dhyeyahÌ£ pÅ«jyaÅ ca nityadÄ
"Therefore, with one-pointed attention, one should constantly hear about, glorify, remember and worship the Personality of Godhead, who is the protector of the devotees." (Translated by HDG Sirla Prabhupada).

Mental can trigger physical pain. Trust me, you don't want to deal with nerve damage pain! It's crippled me since 1992. I would swear my leg is killing me but it's not my leg that's damaged, it's my back.
Emotional pain can be gotten through. Social pain, change it.
Physical pain - that takes second to mental. There are pains that can't be helped by meds, ask someone dying from a painful cancer, there's not enough morphine for it.

Getting kicked in the nards is pretty painful, or so I hear.
Also the shot you have to get in the roof of your mouth when you have a root canal is horribly painful. I speak from personal experience here. It's A through D and then some.

Honestly, I do not know the difference between mental and emotional pain...........I would have to say either of those, they are certainly the hardest to describe, understand and share
ps.....what is social pain? discrimination, unacceptance? would they not be part of mental or emotional pain? really, I don't know. Please tell me so that I might learn.

e.none of the above, because the pain of being separated and isolated, imagined or real, from all that the creation has offered to me-relationships,nature,space,world and so on- is the most severe pain we often won't realise which in fact causes all other pain you have listed!

Sir,
There are only two kind of pain which are most severe.
1. Ignorance
2. Knowledge
and the "Search" for both of these has the severest one.
