You don't need to do anything huge or earth shaking to make your parents proud of you, most parents are really happy if their child is able to make a good life for herself, and has a good head on her shoulders, and things like that. Parents also tend to be proud of their child if they were able to pass on some values to her that help her through. As for the anger and frustration, maybe he just wants you to know that he's on your side, and he's proud of the woman you grew up to be, and wants to offer you encouragement that you can get through all this, because you have values that he helped pass on to see you through.....

What do you mean by "i have done nothing"? Maybe you're talking about not "achieving" something in a big way... But perhaps you have done small, small things well. Perhaps you deal with situations well or maybe you treat people well. He maybe be proud of the person you are. Even if you are angry, if you have a good heart, he could be proud of that! I would be proud of my kid if she had a good heart considering the strange and twisted ways of todays world.
You're lucky to have your father tell you he is proud of you. Since you don't seem to believe him, he keeps coming back to tell you! I don't know you or what you do, so I can't say why he is pleased with you but I'd say don't try to analyze why he should be proud. Just accept the fact that he is.

You are currently angry and frustrated. Part of you is seeking a way out of the situation. This part wants to feel happy and relaxed again. Your anger and frustration is keeping this part suppressed while you are awake. When you are asleep, you don't have control of where your mind wanders. The part of you that seeks happiness and normalcy cannot be suppressed that is why it can seek memories that will satisfy this particular craving. The memory of your father's reassurance is tapped in by the part of you that seeks happiness or at least normalcy.

Your father is trying to communicate his love to you in your dreams. He wants you to let go of the anger and frustration. He knows you're hurting. Did it ever occur to you that he really is proud of you? Maybe he's telling you now because he didn't tell you before he died, and he wants you to know. He wants you to be happy. It's not uncommon for those we love who have passed on to visit us in our dreams. These kinds of dreams are very special. They convey messages from the other side. Your dad loves you very much. He's trying to tell you.

What is your anger and frustration about? That is probably key.
He has come to comfort you and it is working. He is proud of you right now. :)
I have dreams about my deceased mother and she comes when I need her most. She and I didn't get along that well in life, but in my dreams she comforts and consoles me.
Blessings :)

Our minds usually "conjure" images of people that gave us great comfort when we are frustrated or angry and this could be why you are seeing your father in your dreams.
