I don't kill, or steal, and I could probably stand a little more sex.
Sin is a made up word in a made up doctrine which praises a made up deity.
When you accept all this, you'll understand why most people don't "obey" the rules of your fantasy.

Why is it that you think there is even a God? And if there was one that it would care what we did? The idea of God is far too personal in the Judeo-christian faiths. If there is a God it is probably likely to be something like the laws of the universe ie. gravity and the like. If that is the case it seems a bit silly to pray to gravity now doesn't it? People do the things that you mentioned because we are human beings, and being human means being imperfect. Going to church is hardly the cure for the world's ills. Look at how many people get killed in the name of "God". 9/11, the troubles in Northern Ireland, the Spanish Inquisition, and the Palestine/ Israel conflict are lust a few examples. It seems to me as well as any other sophisticated person that it is in fact the strong belief in God that has caused more harm in our society than anything else. People need to take personal responsibility for their own actions, and stop trying to serve some superhuman being who almost definitively does not exist.

Which god are you suggesting we all have to follow?
I have an idea.. I'll try to follow the dictates of deity, and you try to follow yours.
The G-d of Abraham gave 613 commandments to the Jews. The Ten Commandments are the first of those 613. The commandment not to use Hashem's name in vain does not apply when someone sayd "OMG," since "god" is a job title, not the name of the G-d of Abraham.
As for "going to church to learn more about Him," if this is the knowledge you have gained in your church, I suggest you find a new church, one that actually teaches its members to read and understand the Bible, not just parrot the lines the church's leadership wants you to say.

Sin is another word for everything that is wrong. Everything that is wrong is universally known, and is not Christianity-exclusive.
With that being said, sin has been around forever, as indicated in the Bible. It isn't a Biblical thing, however, but can be indicated on a daily basis using a different word or phrase.

And the cultures that developed laws before the Bible? There was written law LONG before the Jewish tribes. Hammurabi's Code is one.
English Common law was the basis for Britain and American developments and those were derived from Germanic law before contact with Christianity.
People can develop laws and know right from wrong.
The majority of the world doesn't have those commandments and does okay. And most of those aren't enforceable and out of date now.

well, i don't know if you've read your "god's word" but according to his holy word he does a lot of killing and his chosen people do a lot of killing and stealing and having sex. but maybe your god is a "do as I say not as I do" kind of father figure.
and an exclaimed "oh my god!" may not be referring to your god. some deities aren't as touchy and insecure as yours.
you can go to church all you like. i don't go to any human made church because there are a bunch of phony humans there showing off acting all pious. i prefer to be in the forest alone with "God".

Don't know about you, but I don't 'always' steal and kill.....I have been known to have sex (I'll self-flagellate for this sin later).
I have a much more expressive repertoire than "OMG", so I avoid that sin nicely.

Because I don't believe there is a God's word.
Also, the Bible wasn't against all forms of sex, unlike the way you put it up there with killing and stealing.

God created us with a free will and even people that go to church and read the Bible sin, all pastors even sin. We are HUMAN. We just have to do out best to live a good life, ask for forgiveness for our sins.

Christians believe in a god that needs blood to wash sins....what more can you say, don't ask them to make sense.
