The Geneva convention outlines the acceptable way to interrogate a POW but terrorists are not POW they are international criminals and not under the sanction of the Geneva convention

It depends. The Geneva Convention says none. A hostile army that has signed onto the Geneva Convention can only ask for the name rank and serial number. All bets are off and those that either do not sign up for it or do not follow through with it. So if one side tortures the enemy troops, the other side can.

Terrorist organizations do whatever they want, they are not bound by any treaty and if they were, they could just break it on a whim. So being nice to the terrorists doesn't mean they will be nice back.

Outside the Geneva convention, I would say anything done in a military boot camp anywhere in the world would be fine. Since U.S.special operation forces have been known to waterboard themselves for fun, that would be allowed. The use of tear gas would be allowed (standard basic training in the U.S.). Forced marches without shoes would be allowed (Chinese basic training). Being stripped naked in front of the opposite sex (sometimes by doctors in U.S. basic training and the U.S. prison system) would be allowed. Made to stand or sit for long periods of time along with being woken up at odd times (basic training in many countries) would be allowed.

Keep in mind that our enemies do not abide by the Geneva Convention and are already torturing POW's.

Since they are not abiding by the Geneva Convention, neither should we. We could lose valuable Intel that could actually save the life of one of those servicemen that you are pretending to care about.

If the other side was following the rules of war my answer would be different but I hardly think making nicey with the people who are cutting your heads off will change them.

Once a prisoner has surrendered, as long as it does not cause permanent physical injury I am in favor of it. Waterboarding, truth serumes, temperature extremes are all fair game if it saves one innocent life. Now captured enemies need to have some status and process so that they do not live in Guantanamo or Kazakstan forever. Congress should have oversight, confidential oversight.

No US enemy has ever obeyed the Geneva convention. Those are good if we ever go to war with Swizterland.

We should screw TERRORIST p.o.w's up. If i'm caught I won't be tortured just a clean cut in the head, but before they could do it i'd spit in their face. HOOAH! Rangers lead the way!

I will recognize that terrorists should be treated reasonably humanely when they begin acting like reasonable humans.

Terrorists give up their rights when they decide to blow up a marketplace or school full of kids.
