These people called me and said they saw my resume on hotjobs and wants to schedule an interview(never heard of them). I was kinda iffy about that because my resume thats posted on hotjobs is for administrative assistance/clerical not sales(?). I have no sales experience whatsoever and these people have sent countless emails and have contacted me 3 times already to remind me about my interview tomorrow. After reading a lot of other questions about this company on answers, everything is really summing up my suspensions. Why are they so eager to interview someone who didn't apply for the job and doesn't have sales experience? Is this one of those companies that sounds good, but once you get the job, you find out its sorta like a scam? Is it strictly commission only?

According to the company profile on Yahoo, they have been in business since 1879 and are headquartered in Illinois. However, from a consumer standpoint, they have an unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau. You should go to http://www.bbb.org and check it out.

On a suspicious note, you might also check to verify that the location of the interview is at an actual location where the company does business. Check the address you were given for the interview against locations at the company's main website. Also, does the email address actually come from the company domain is it from a generic Yahoo or Gmail account?

If you are comfortable that the recruiters are who they say they are, and you decide to go to the interview, be advised that It looks like they are mostly seeking sales trainees, so that is likely what they will offer you, although they might have office/admin positons also. At the interview, you should ask them to clarify the salary and payment structure, and see what they say. As long as you go armed with as much information as possible about the company , and with a clear head, you should be able to decide if the offer is legitimate, and if legitimate, if it is acceptable based on your career path.

hey, i met representitives from this company at a job fair- they are a legit company - i know where their office is locally and its very nice....and i know people that work for them and do pretty well. i didnt end up following through with the application process, but they approached me at the job fair (i think because i was one of the youngest ones there) they were VERY interested in the fact that i was a recent college graduate. if you are young/college grad. as well- this might be why they are attracted to you--- they want to train you and build you into a great Insurance Sales Rep. and then there will be opportunities to move up after that. they called me a few times to sched. an interveiw and after some thought i decided that i really dont want to work in sales- and the office is sort of a hassle to get to where i live.
