Is religion more & more being kicked in the gutter as us humans realise the truth; and have the ability to rediscover/redefine who we are?

Copper...I guess I didn't make myself clear...this has nothing to do with being a non-believer of the Divine. What I'm refering to is 'spirituality' being more sought after other than 'a' religion...

(I understand your beliefs and I'm afraid they are at stake today)

BUT yes it is. people are becoming smarter and smarter and realizing that religion is only creating BLIND followers.
(the church and other groups like it are really only governing powers.... the USA is still struggling to remove the church from state)

spiritually has thrived for thousands of years.......
think about native Americans for example, or some groups of druids, or gypsy, actually almost EVERY culture has its own form of spirituality.... the stronger, richer cultures develop their OWN church types

in actuality, the church has fought to keep free spirituality in suppression, spreading their own doctrine instead, and collecting the man power, money power it can.

but now people are challenge the idea of "GOD" with science and proving that the beliefs the Church(s) has spread are false

unfortunately for the "spiritual believers" science disproves them as well and I only see the beliefs in scientific reasoning growing stronger and stronger with our better understanding of sciences such as physics and quantum physics.

the end of spirituality is inevitable coming to an end too.

i think right now, in order for spirituality to survive its view will have to change to simple "harmony" with the earth, follow people, and the universe......

its the only thing that makes sense to me.

Although, quantum theory still leaves a door wide open.............

New Age,
perhaps we are reaching a stage of maturity in which wheat is being separated from the corn. Yet, it still comprises a broad spectrum of activities from the commercial rip-off to unselfish dedication to serve mankind spiritually. Many do not wish to be associated with the name because it reminds them of the turbulence associated with the uprising of the younger generation in the late sixties
One may pray that the movement will sustain its original purity and raise high the spirit of new generations, giving it an immense vista of life and a purpose to live for.

I think so. I believe that as we pass from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius we will see people start to drift away from organized religion. People will begin to seek their own Truth. We will also see an increase in peoples willingness to accept or at least respect beliefs that differ with their own.

We as a civilization are constantly evolving. Every generation brings us further into the (r)evolution. I've been feeling that more and more people are thinking about the meaning of life and connecting to their inner or higher selves which are definitely connected to the universe. But then, I felt this back in the 70's as well; it just keeps getting stronger.

I don't generally get spiritual revelations from myths.

Er...I'm not seein' it...

I think that's a New Age belief, and maybe, for New Agers, that's the case. Fortunately, they compose only a small portion of the US (and world, I believe) population...

No, truth is getting kicked in the gutter as humans deny it and cling to the lie.
