I live in Pennsylvania and had this lady make up false harassment charges. When I took it to court me and my lawyer talked to the police officer and he plus the judge came to an understanding that the charges were totally false. The charges were totally dropped and the ticket was thrown out because I have never seen the lady before and never seen her after she also did not come to court. My question is do I still need to have my record expunged even if the ticket was thrown out and the charges were dropped?

Thanks. I dont have time to do to much with it but basically I am just wandering if dropped charges show up on record?

I'd first contact the clerk of court or the city attorney's office to determine if it is indeed on your records. If it is, you have to file papers to have the charge removed from your records. A criminal defense attorney will charge a modest fee for filing these papers.
To possibly recoup these costs in time and money, I'd debate on taking the woman to small claims court and filing suit for damages including the fees and time that it took to remove these charges from your record. Be sure to subpoena the police offficer and the judges ruling on the case.
