I don't have loads of money or anything. Am a 20 yr old college student just looking t do something good for someone else. I thought about donating canned food and that would be great(although I als thought..how about making loads of sandwiches because it's more personable but then there are worries about food safety prcodures etc..) but then my friend suggested that maybe I just volunteer at a soup kitchen? Anyone know anything or somewhere I can get more information on this? Any help will greatly be appreciated. Merci!

That is great. You can give to the Salvation Army, United Way or a local shelter. Giving food to a food pantry is also awesome- just give canned or boxed food, don't try to make anything--for the very reasons you stated.

Just take the items you have directly to the homless. Eliminate the middle-man.
