My cat poops everywhere but inside his liter box. However, he only pees in the liter box. We clean his box daily because he is a picky cat, so I don't know what else to do. I'm 3 seconds away from dropping his *** off at the Humane society.

My cats poop in one box and pee in another. Acutally they have two boxes they decided that they would pee in and one box that is just for poop.

My female never cared, but when we brought the male home, he set the rules that each box would be used for one thing only and has trained the other cat to follow the rule. He used to sit and cry if she would pee in his poop box or the other way around until it was cleaned. They have worked it out though and they both only poop in one box and the others are for pee.

The rule on litter boxes is that you should have 1 box for every cat plus one. So one cat needs 2 boxes. 2 cats need 3 boxes. 3 cats need 4 boxes, and so on. This is for the poop/pee issue and also helps with territory problems that arise in multi-cat homes.

Like the others said some cats like to have two boxes. If its the litter dont change it right away, you have to do it gradually. And abrupt change even in litter can have a cat going somewhere else. Some cats are like that. Luckily our cat doesnt care!
Stress can also cause changes in a cat's litter box habits. Look back to the times when the pooping has taken place outside of the litter box. Was there anything out of the ordinary going on in the house? Guests, work schedule change, etc.?
Next time the pooping begins, take your cat in to the vet for an examination to make sure there isn't a medical problem involved. As I said previously, any kind of stress can contribute to this behavior.
Also evaluate what's going on in the house during this period. You may be able to identify your cat's "trigger" for the behavior.
You could also try scooping her poops back into one of the litter boxes to signal where you want her to go. Hopefully she'll get the picture.

That is a tough one. If you say you clean his litter box daily, then try cleaning it twice a day. Also add lots of litter. Some cats love alot of kitty litter. Then the litter may be dirty. Throw it all away, wash out the litter box with bleach, soap and hot water; dry well and add all new litter and lots of it. If your cat continues, then make another litter box for his poop. He may want a poop litter box separate from his pee litter box...Each cat is different, but cats are very clean animals and they all have their own quirks about doing their business...Try it what can you lose. See what happens.

Ok . . . let's not drop tha poor cat just b/c he poops somewhere else!

First, talk w/ your vet. Maybe he has worms, or an infection and it hurts to poop - so he doesn't have much control.

Second, try another litter box . . . I have 2 cats and they pee in one and poop in the other.

Many cats will not pee AND poo in the same box. I suggest 2 litterboxes in this case, since you say he is picky. This should solve the problem.
Has he been medically evaluated? Perhaps it hurts him to poop and he's trying to draw your attention to his pain by pooping outside the box? Just a thought....

He probably knows how you really feel about him (your last statement). Try different litter and maybe an enclosed litter box. Some cats like privacy. You could try moving the litter box to a different location also, he may not like where it's placed.
