I don't get it. I try my hardest to exercise, eat right, yet I'm gaining fat, and I'm sure it's fat because I jiggle more, and I look even worse. Even if itw as muscle, I don't want muscle, and I need to lose weight, not gain it. What am I doing wrong, and what more can I do to be at least 130-140 by March? (Okay, maybe that's a little much, but at least 180 by March) I'm 220 or something currently (believe me, I know that sounds REALLY fat, but I'm not that bad, I guess, at least, no one believes me, and they guess that I'm 170 until I prove it).
I'm tired of being told to take up a sport and stuff, because I did, and I can't anymore because my grades aren't good enough and my mom can't afford a league, and I have asthma. It's hard enough walking home everyday.
Help, I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm sure there's more to your story than what is being said.

By eating healthy, what do you mean? Are you talking cereal for breakfast, burgers for lunch, and a salad for dinner? That's trying to eat healthy, but not even close.

You should be eating around 5 small meals a day. Not to fill up, but to maintain your body to keep burning calories. A small light meal, like half a bagel, yogurt or cottage cheese, water or juice is suffice. You want lots of protein and low fat.

The 30 minutes of "cardio" by walking home is good, but not great. You should do more. After you get home, since your body is still in calorie burning mode, do some more workouts. It doesn't have to be strenuous. Jump jacks, running in place, sit ups or crunches, a workout video if you have it.

The main focus of working out is to get moving and to train your body to lose those calories.

Now, when you start to workout, you can gain a little weight and then drop it suddenly. That's fine. And, as you lose weight, you will gain muscle. There's no way around it. But you don't have to look bulky like weight lifters either.

I suggest talking to your doctor and getting professional advice on this. They can set you up on a plan that works best for you, not anyone on here. The doctor can also test you for any health issues that would cause you to not lose weight.

That jiggle you're experiencing is from you losing the weight and the fat, but not doing strength training to tighten the skin. You need to strength train, which means lifting weights. dont worry about looking buff and muscular, it's not gonna happen. You DO want muscle, by the way. Muscles are what burn your calories. When your muscles are strong, they run more efficiently. That doesnt mean you're gonna look like Ms. Olympia.

Incorporate crunches into your work out. It's hard doing them on the floor, so look into a yoga ball, those work wonders. You can even just sit on them while watching tv and you're exercising your core muscles! Very neat.

That being said, you're not gonna weigh 130 by March. Youre not gonna weigh 180 by March. 40 pounds in 3 months just isnt healthy. Could you do it? Maybe. Would it stay off? No. A proper life change--LIFE CHANGE, not a crash diet--takes time. Trust me on this. I used to weigh a whopping 261 pounds and it took almost TWO YEARS to get to a healthy weight. But you can do it!

Oh, and whoever said need surgery, no. You dont. Is 200 healthy? No. But most surgeons wont touch you if youre below 260sish. 200 pounds is clinically obese, yes, but not to the point where you're unable to help yourself.

And I wouldnt pat yourself on the back too hard about weighing 105, Nikki. THAT's not a healthy weight, either.

You might be eating healthy, but you might be eating too many calories.

A calorie is a calorie.

You can get fat while living off of plain lettuce, if you eat enough to exceed what your body burns off.

That said, are you eating a large amount of nuts, seeds, avocados, bananas, etc. to make the "healthy" transition easier? Then there's your problem. Those foods are calorie dense.

Just make sure to get your protein and healthy fats, but to keep the cals around 2000.

Keep up the walking, it's great exercise. Good luck!

30 mins of walking may not be enough for you, if you want to lose weight....

It also depends on how you walk.

If you walk at a leisure, easy pace, it may do only some good....

It's different if you up your walking intensity, meaning if you race walk (walk as if you're racing) and cover more miles in shorter time frame.....

Walk like this, even a 30 min duration can burn off 200 -300 calories.....

This article on walking explains it all: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/walking-exercises.html

And then of course, it's eating......

This article on eating healthy ad still lose weight may help you out: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/healthy-weight-loss-diets.html

Eating healthy to lose weight means you've got to eat fewer calories than you burn......

I don't know if that's what you're doing.....

And since you've asthma, the medication could impede your weight loss too.....Check out the medication to make sure that it's not the cause of your weight problem.

Plus I suggest you check out your thyroid as well.....

Underactive thyroid could slow down your metabolism, hence you've problem in losing weight.
