When you are in a dream (and you don't know it) and you make a decision to do something bad like cheat on your spouse or kill someone, is it YOU making the decision or is a dream all predetermined.

For example, I had a dream that I got into a fight. I beat the guy up and he begged me to stop. I remember thinking about it and then deciding to continue pummeling him until he was darn near dead. Was that ME actually making a decision to do wrong or did I have no control over what was happening?

What do you think?

I'm just asking if you think we control are actions in dreams or do you think we have no control over what we do when we are dreaming.

Dreeams do tell you a lot about how you control your emotions. If you are good at controlling your emotions, you can steer a dream in a more positive direction. But if you tend to lose control of your emotions, then the dream will carry you places you might not want to go. I would be a little careful about over reacting in anger. Meditation on anger can get you more relaxed with that emotion, so that it can be used more constructively, like trying to fight peacefully for justice or morality. Mind-body exercise, or other discipline involving exercise, could teach you more control.

I believe it is our subconcious dealing with any and all kinds of issues we have. Issues we may or may not be aware of show up in dreams. I try to pay attention just to see if something in my dreams strike my conscience, then really think about it. I don't concern myself overly with any of them though. I've been forturnate to never be plagued with many nightmares.

Do you hate this guy in reall life? It could be your subconscious way of unloading all this hate without actually physically doing harm to him. In a way it helps. It's almost like therapy.
