I am going for my driving test soon and after 11 months of practicing, I am still not very good at parallel parking. I have heard from some that there is a DMV in the Phoenix area that does not do parallel parking on the test. Does anyone know if this is true and if so where is it?

Well apparently I did not word that correctly for some, even though the point is quite clear.
Yes, I am looking for a testing place which does not test parallel parking. I know some driving schools do not, but I am looking for an actual DMV office that does not test on that.

Parallel parking is sometimes an absolute necessity. Some states substitute a mobility demonstration, which involves the same basic manoeuvres, but no state will certify you as a driver if you can't perform a backwards turning manoeuvre, which is what is involved in parallel parking. It only take a short while to master the manoeuvre, you just need the right technique.

Also be aware, there is nobody, I mean nobody on the road in any city or town that doesn't have to parallel park at some point in time. It could be at a doctor's office, drugstore, police station, whatever. If you don't know how, the best that happens is you end up on America's Funniest Home Videos. The worst is you are given a roadside alcohol test because you looked drunk.

The State DMV issues all requirements for the driving test. The individual offices must all give the same test. Some States have now gone to the "maneuverability test" instead. It's a shame since there is still street parking and these people cannot do the procedure.
