well.. maybe she has had a bad past with her dad. i did and i just overall had a bad childhood because of it. i've definetly told ppl that i would't cry if my dad died. i don't talk to him, i don't like him, and i honestly wouldn't care if he did die. because of all the things that have happened to me in my life, i dont cry either. some events in people's lives change them, make them stronger, or their heart harder. one day, if she feels bad, she might cry, but she feels that her lack of emotion justifies her past. talk to her, find out about her, be an even better friend. (not saying you aren't)

Without knowing about your friends relationship with her dad,it is hard to tell.It can be a number of things. She might not have been that close to her dad.If he died suddenly, she might still be in shock and/or denial.I really did not cry that much for my mom,and even though I miss her,I don't miss her as much as I do my dad.It varies from person to person.Only worry about it if it seems to be affecting her day to day life, and be there for her if she does decide to lose it.

There are different type of people in this odd odd world. Your friend is different--of course, we all are, but some of us are as tough as a rock and know how to move on in life.

it's hard to tell why she didn't cry, without knowing her well and personally.

some people hold their feelings back, and others don't even shed a tear, even though they do go through grief in their own way.

just be there for her when you can, and accept her for who she is. that's what friends do
