Dry food. Its healthyier for them then wet and it keeps their teeth strong. My 15 yr old cat has been eating it all her life and my vet swears she is younger than what she is. If u eat tuna give the juice to her as a treat. The oils will help her coat stay nice and shiny. Get a wire brush and a hard brush for her to reduce shedding. Get a bed for her even if she is outside. Put it in the garage and be sure to lock her in at night. He\she can get into lots of trouble at night. Give her lots of affection si that she isnt a fraidy cat when she gets older. Get a litter box with clumping litter, a water dish, and feed dish. We get the big bags of dry cat food and put it in a laungery detergent bin thing. Wash it out thouroghly and pour the bag in. It kkeps the food fresh. WHEN the is younger she will be picky. Change the food every day so that it stays fresh. BUT dont waste it be throwing it away. We pour it back in with the fresh stuff and mix it up. She never knows that its mixed! Change the water every day too and make sure its always full. Cats hate getting their whiskers hit on the sides of the dish t when the water is low. Hope I helped and congrats! Cats are fun!

Oh dear, this does not bode well. But I will try...
1)Set a regular feeding schedule. Since you have a kitten, you'll want to start with kitten chow. But when he's an adult, switch to adult food: He won't need the extra nutrition and calories any more.
2)Get him a litter box, and get a scooper. Clean the box every day so it won't stink to high heaven. There are a number of good clumping kitty litters on the market, so use one of them.
3)Consult a vet about shots, neutering or spaying, and general check-ups. Caring for a little cat can be an expensive proposition.
4)If you don't want to declaw your cat, get a scratching post.
5)Keep your kitty inside: There are some sick jokers out there who think that running over small critters is funny.
6)You don't have to buy toys unless you want to- though they're nice. A paper wad works very well indeed.
You may want to consider buying or building a kitty condo too: Cats like to jump onto high things, and it might spare your kitchen table.
Good luck!

Cats are pretty self sufficient and good teachers. Canned foods with no gravy and little or no grains for health. Please, no dry food.
A nice big litter box that is cleaned and scopped every day and changed once a week.
Cats like strings and bags and boxes and balls to play with
Maybe a cat tree to climb on and a scratching post/
Don't expect much sleep for a while :-)
Good Luck

have clean cat litter all the time, plenty of water and dry food for him/her and give them some can food each day. brush them and try to keep in doors if you can, or they can get fleas, have fights w/other animals.
take to vets for a check up and make sure they are fixed as soon as they can be. a vet will give him/her shots too.
just give them a lot of attention when you are home.

Good quality kitten formula food for the first year, always leave water out for it, and make sure it can reach the litterbox. Beyond that keep it entertained with simple toys (balls of paper are great!) and he'll be fine.
