I ran across this question tonight:
http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AombsmBy0Wz6_NAzWnEgIj_AFQx.;_ylv=3?qid=20071218171938AARofN5
there are many such examples....
my question is, if you are offended when questions such as this are asked, do you forgive the offender?

thank you all for your answers
I'm actually feeling rather chagrinned now..... because I really just wanted to point out that no matter what we see or read on this board, we should forgive. (I only wanted to use this question as an example.)
8 track - I also know that stuff like this is posted against both atheists and Christians, and I am equally put off by both....
Please forgive me, I assumed this guy is a troll simply because he is new, has no contacts and has asked only this one question. That may not be the case at all, but in my opinion, introducing yourself to the board with such a question may not be in their best interest either....
:)

Forgiveness requires that one have an emotional investment in the first place, otherwise there is no offense. I care so little about things like this that I honestly am not offended--since when is human stupidity something new?
If it were required of me to go through the emotional act of forgiving everytime someone does something stupid, 90% of my waking hours would be spent doing nothing else.

Trolling would not concern me - never did. I do exactly in contrast to whilst somebody floods a communicate board with stupid stuff - it is stressful. many human beings on Yahoo have not any humorousness - and that they had opt to rain on each physique else's parade and make every person depressing alongside with them. Troll away - i think of it is humorous.

I thought the question was funny. But then, I think if the question was reversed and was about atheists, it would still be funny. But, what do I know, I always look for the humour, except that Muslim post guy, I don't like those long things like that. And it is probably just a machine posting that stuff.

Until they give me a violation for answering their question without being equally insulting.
I could care less what happens to trolls - I hope they get stuck under their bridges with a case of the plops from eating bad goat.

Yes! Stupid or foul, I will forgive because just like Jesus said to God on the cross when He was being insulted by the nonbelievers. "FATHER, PLEASE FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW."
I always will forgive my offenders because I know the Lord and the don't. The Lord is the only one that will judge us and I will let the Lord do the judgment; because at the end He will judge me too.
GOD BLESS! AMEN! SHALOM!

I try. Sometimes it's easy. Other times, not so much. When the offense involves ignorance it is somewhat easy to overlook and forgive. When it's intended meanness it's really hard to muster that forgiveness but I do exert the energy and move on.

Jack is correct when he says there isn't an emotional tie...yet,something like that question which is just intended to hurt with insult...I have a hard time with. It's just sheer coldness.

I don't have a sense of humor, only a sense of decency. Now take off your shirt, I want to see what's behind door number 1.

Rammie,
A Christian is required to forgive and I forgive anyone for any and every reason whether they expect me to or not. GOD is the one who we need to ask Forgiveness from in all cases. Have a wonderful week and a great Holiday!
Thanks,
