Recently there were questions on yahoo answers about a rape victim in Saudi Arabia .....

In the Bible it is clearly stated that the person who is involved in sex outside marriage is supposed to be stoned to death.....

The same is the punishment in ISLAM.

Obviously any action which makes the opposite sex inclined towards this act should also be punished.....

Why are you "True believers of the Bible" not following your book . Can't you see what you are doing in the name of "FREE WILL"
& "FREEDOM".

The following news from "ABC NEWS" tells us that

"At least nine out of 10 Americans, men and women alike, have had premarital sex, says a new report. And premarital sex isn't new "

http://abcnews.go.com/health/story?...

Is this the will of "The Lord".... Is this submitting your will to the will of "The Lord".

Look within yourself and .... & Submit your will to the "Will of The Lord"....

Don’t you people believe in "Hell" told by Jesus Christ?

Bible Mathew
5:27
You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery:  5:28
But I say to you, That whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  5:29
And if your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is better for you that one of your members should perish, than that your whole body should be cast into hell.

Quran suran 24. An Nur.

Enjoin the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that is chaster for them. Surely Allah is well aware of their actions.

I am American, and it is a disgraced and shameful! Too many PAGANS are calling themselves CHRISTIANS. Here in America it is so bad, you can't tell one from the other. Peace be upon the true lover's of our Almighty God.

You have presented two errors.

1. You have a basic misunderstanding of our culture in the West. Our government is NOT ruled by the church. In fact, such a relationship (between Church and State) is illegal in the United States! So, while there are Christians in certain countries (like the USA, Great Britian, and others) that does not necessarily make those countries...Christian.

Now, concerning Christian theology...

Premarital sex IS a sin. It is part of the whole package of marital unfaithfulness, which also includes lust and adultery. However, we (Christians) do not kill people for sinning. If we did, we would have to execute all but the smallest of children, for all humans sin! Why draw the line at sexual impropriety? Jesus taught this to the Pharisees, when they threw an adultress at His feet. "Let the man among you who has never sinned, be the first to throw a stone at her," He said. All of her accusers (and Jesus', the whole scenario was really a trap for Him) left without hurting her, for they all knew that the had all sinned at some point in their lives.

Capital crimes do exist, but the secular courts take care of punishing them. Premarital sex is not considered a crime worthy of punishment here (unless one of the participants is underage, in which case it is rape.)

BTW....you made another error.

2. RAPE IS NOT SEX. RAPE IS VIOLENCE. Do not confuse rape with premarital sex. Rape is just another version of assault and battery, or great bodily harm less than (or equal to) murder. IDK about Islam, but the God of the Bible said that a rape victim was NOT guilty of sin in this matter. Only the rapist deserved to die.

No woman (or man, they can be raped also!) "asks" to be raped, not by her manner of dress or speech or walk, etc. This is a common, dirty whitewash, called "blame the victim". Try blaming the criminal! They are the person who did the crime! If someone breaks into your house and steals your money, is it YOUR fault that you had money that could be stolen? If someone kills your friend, is it his fault that he had a life that could be snuffed out? The answer to both questions is obviously "NO".

Rapists are violent, abusive criminals. Whether they also engage in illicit, voluntary sex is another matter entirely. They are separate sins.

What does your god say about this? I really don't know.

PS. I thought the case sounded familiar. The victim was blackmailed into getting into a car with a former suitor, and then kidnapped and gang-raped. The victim, who survived the account, was then sentenced to a near-fatal beating for getting into the car to begin with, because that was "inappropriate". The rape gang recieved a light sentence! Not only will they NOT be executed for this crime, they may not even do any time in prison!

Obviously this is NOT justice according to either the Bible or the Koran. This is just another account of how much hatred this system of "justice" has for women--punish the victim, and reward the sinner. IF THIS is an example of a "godly" country under Sharia law, then you have very little to offer us in the west!

The standards for justice and righteousness do not flex with gender. God's expectations are the same for women as well as men. If you want to hold up Sharia law as an example of righteousness, then perhaps you should find a better example case! So far, we are not impressed.

It is a sin. However you are talking Old Testament law which is no longer valid. We are in the grace age now.

EDIT: To J. below. You ask for a verse in the Bible saying pre-marital sex is a sin. Here you go.

1Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Now what is the definition of fornication:

1. [n] extramarital sex that willfully and maliciously interferes with marriage relations; "adultery is often cited as grounds for divorce"
2. [n] voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other

There you go.

As noted above, yes, premarital sex is sin, according to Old Testament Law, as well as the New Testament. True, Jesus did not stone the woman caught in adultery (or the man who, interestingly enough, was not brought before him as well). He *did* tell her to sin no more, indicating that her actions were indeed sinful. The Apostle Paul also addresses this issue in numerous of his writings.
As far as our living in the age of grace, and not under the Law, we do well to refer to Romans 6:1, 2a: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid." The Epistle to the Romans is a helpful study on the issue of Grace vs. Law.
God has not changed his mind, regardless of how professing Christians behave.

I agree that pre-marital sex is wrong. My husband and I both married later in life and we were both virgins when we married and there wasn't any way I would have made an acception as a Christian ~ and I taught my niece the same thing.

I don't agree with the stoning to death law but if a woman follows a certain belief and they know the rules that religion practices, they'd best be ready to accept the consequences..... as long as the guy gets the same punishment.

I'm not entirely sure what your question is, but as far as I'm concerned, premarital sex is a sin wherever it occurs.

You mentioned rape victims - I also believe that premarital sex against your will is absolutely not a sin, and that you should most certainly not be condemned for it, by anyone.

Remember, when Jesus came He took the punishment for all sins. What that means is that God does not require that we stone sinners to remove the sin from the community. It is up to them to seek forgiveness through the amazing sacrifice of Jesus.

Also remember, when Jesus spoke of Hell He didn't do so to frighten everyone into being good. God doesn't want anyone to go to Hell, but respects their choice - if someone chooses to reject Him in life, He does not force them to spend eternity with Him. Hell is the absence of God, and thus the absence of everything good. God is not a sadistic taskmaster waiting for you to mess things up - remember that. He offers unconditional love and grace if we admit our need for it.

It is the greatest gift you can give your spouse. To bad my wife was molested at 5, again at 10 by a family member and then force raped at the age of 16.

Should she be stoned or do you think that Jesus would forgive her. God knows more than you about the struggles of the heart and forgives those who want to please HIM.

I believe this is where Jesus said those of you without sin should cast the first stone. A sin is a sin so are you throwing stones.
Also we are not to boast about our self in the Lord, for God gave each person in measure for what His purpose is. Those who have success were given the strength to endure for his purpose. To place such a boast opens the door for God to turn you over to be truly tested and not with His strength but on your own. One on one with the devil is not where I want to be. Even Arch Angel Michael would only say to Satan," The Lord rebukes you." out of fear and power in the Lord's name to defeat Satan.

Thanks for the pulpit. By the way My wife loves the Lord and we serve an awesome God of forgiveness not of damnation. The Lord knows my wife and I. Our salvation is election sure.

If you will read the story about the men bringing a woman who they were going to stone to death because of sexual relationships outside of marriage to Jesus ...this will open your eyes.... Jesus bent down and was writing in the dirt.....they questioned him about this situation...and he replied ...Those without sin...cast the first stone....none of them stoned her...they left...Jesus asked the woman where her accusers were...she said she had none...he told her to go and sin no more......You can't just take one or two scriptures out of context.......read the entire thing...and let the Holy Spirit confirm things to you.... Yes, you are talking about Old Testament law...we are under Grace now....as the response above says...

We take the example of this matter set by Jesus Christ Himself.
An adulterous woman was brought to Him, and her accusers asked if it was lawful for them to stone her to death.
Jesus bent down and began to write in the dirt; after a moment He stood up and told them, "Let the one who has not sinned in his life be the one to cast the first stone," and He went back to writing in the dirt.
Slowly, one by one, the accusers left, leaving the woman alone. When Jesus asked her if any of her accusers were still there, she answered Him and said, "No one is left to accuse me,"
Jesus then said, "Then neither do I, go and sin no more."

He never said the law was wrong, but man had abused the law and now the people suffered because man had used it to spread fear and shame. Jesus came to set the captives of sin free form its bondage.
Christianity is meant to free us from sin, NOT to sin.

We believe in the grace of God. Some folks had pre-maritial sex BEFORE they became Christians. Any legitimate answer will be seen through your clouded view of Christians anyway, so what's the point of giving a long answer to such a rambling question.

Because, I'm going to regret saying this. Christians are a little more forgiving, though I don't doubt they'd want to go on a stoning rampage, but since the west is actually civilized that isn't possible.
