We had a missionary speak at our church. He travels all over the world, carrying the gospel of Christ to those that do not have it.
While in an Int'l Airport in the EU, he observed a large mural-type ad with a man, woman, and a child holding their right hands, fisted, with the backs toward the viewer, showing that they had "taken the mark". The text in the ad stated that everyone needed it to ensure the security of their future, and to keep their ID from being stolen, and their accounts safe.
Upon asking an employee of the airline what they thought of the ad, and taking the "mark" (the missionary being a Christian, and knowing the full meaning of what the mark meant), the employee informed him that they had already gotten a letter from corporate HQ, telling them that everyone had to have the mark by 2010, or they would be terminated from their jobs, and lose any benefits, retirement, etc. Scripture being fulfilled. What are your thoughts on this? Your explanations?

They deny it my dear friend because they have what God calls 'hardened hearts'...I can only imagine how Jesus felt when He did all He did in front of their eyes and they still mocked Him with their unbelief...God bless the sweet intention of your heart here, you're illuminating the darkness with your light - Bravo ! Do not be discouraged , The task ahead of you is never as great as the power behind you! Take care , ~ Leah....

I'm sorry, but that does not qualify as Scripture being fulfilled. There are a few prophecies in the Bible that have come true, but for every one of those, there are ten that have not. Jesus himself apparently states in the Bible that the end of the world would come in the life time of his disciples. Sorry, but the world didn't end nearly two thousand years ago. Also, your logic is very faulty. If somebody claims that a certain team is going to win a soccer game and that does happen, does that mean that every "prophecy" that person makes will become reality?

The mark? What is this mark?

And what other so called "prophecies" are being fulfilled? Can you name some more?

If you name Israel as one of them -- have you thought that maybe it came to realization because it said so in the book? Kind of circular, if you ask me.

And the airport doesn't prove a thing - it's an isolated incident. And even if it were to happen on a wide scale, again.. circular.

Evolutionists, humanists, atheists, and other anti-Biblicists will inherit nothing but wind, but "The wise shall inherit glory" (Proverbs 3:35).

Revelation 13:15-18 (King James Version)

15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Bible prophecy is not something you can set your calendar by, and expect it to be fulfilled by...
It is like the Nostradamus prophecies - it is only after events that have happened, do critics, etc have something to say about them..
The Bible itself is a hopeless piece of fictional writing - because people seem to think they can relate to it? Like putting themselves into some biblical hollywood movie. When all it is is some romantic retrospective - which is not accurate in details at all. That really it is some myth given flesh and details that now people think it is so truthful, when it cannot be - because ot the revisionist writing/editing/etc done to it.

The Bible was printed to instill fear in mankind. It was a way of controlling man and Until this day it is still being used for that purpose. Look at the current political figures (President) and leaders of Industry. They are all part of a not so secret society named "Skull & Bones" where they worship the occult, look it up on YouTube. Do not believe the lies that you see every night at 11 pm.

I don't really believe in Christianity, or at least the modern version of it, but I do find it interesting that some of what the Bible says is coming true, but I think it is mostly coincidental. Of course there are other religions that use the Bible as their book, but idk much about them. I tried Christianity for a while(trying to find the religion that I liked the most), but I have come to develop a different philosophy/spirituality. I don't totally agree with any religion (as far as I know anyway) But I won't go into that... In the past plenty of people have "taken the mark." Was the Scripture fulfilled then? Just because one airline has an ad in it doesn't mean the whole world is going to "take the mark."

We as a people are headed toward a time when we will become cattle with "barcodes". It is the perfect solution to the problem of controlling, documenting, and manipulating our desires. Today we carry credit cards as a testament to our pledge of loyalty to the power of greed driven corporations. Perhaps soon we may actually have microchips inplanted in our bodies. It would seem to be a perfect solution to control us and to continue the manipulation of our lives with the subliminal messages of self-destruction that inundate us today. Materialism, infidelity, corruption, decadence, the worship of money. It seems for all the good that true spirituality attempts to show us, it is met with head-on hypocrisy, lies, deceit, and a raw talent for aggression. Why? Because in reality, God controls nothing here. Humans do. This is our domain and we have made it our own perfect hell.

The mark of the beast was a tattoo the romans put on their prisoners. The beast was ancient Rome. Revelation was written by an extremely depressed prisoner, and the quality of writing in that book is pathetic. Study some history and you'll understand that book better.

OK, you have my attention. I now demand a link to some site somewhere that explains a bit more on this supposed "mark" that people will need to have by 2010.
