I am in the process of selling my vehicle, which makes it all the more sweeter. The door will not open from the outside. I took it to a locksmith and they said that there was corrosion preventing it from turning. The inside power locks still work fine. She didn't have a Nissan Altima (1999) lock available to be keyed. Does anyone know where I can get one? Better yet, is there some way I can fix this myself? I don't want to spend a fortune on the repairs, seeing as its technically no longer my car. Being honest, I told the new owner I'd fix it....There are 'key kits' on ebay, but I'm not entirely sure what it is I am supposed to be looking for when buying. Can someone please help!

Try getting a can of WD-40 and use the spray tube that comes with it and stick it in the keyhole and soak the heck out of it. WD is good for desolving all kinds of krud and will lubricate it at the same time.

Oil and work the lock back and forth. Did the car come with keyless entry? Next thing there are complete lock sets available at nissan but if your willing to go to the auto salvage yard get a left door lock Cyl that can be rekeyed.

better try to put oil (branded) which can help loosen the corrosive part and always make sure got grease after you tried the oil so the oil penetrate inside the key mechanism through corrosive area.
