Why would you say you are ugly?
In some cases I imagine it is because folks are fishing, hoping someone will say, no your not your beautiful, in others because they take physical appearance as beauty, which is a cultural flaw as beauty is more than simply a pretty face or good legs. Inner beauty is much more important for those who have the ability to see beyond the superficial.
Like the person before me said, its a matter of opinion.
Or perhaps, an opinion which only matters if you let it.

i would say that yes people lie to make you feel good- but there is no way we know if that holds true for you or not. ugly and beautiful are both a matter of opinion. every one has a different opinion of ugly and beautiful

probably not in most cases, but you'd be hard pressed to find a person who is your friend who would say that you're ugly to your face. Why would they be your friend in the first place if they would say something like that? Physical appearance doesn't matter anyway.

Sometimes they're lying. I especially don't trust family or friends because they are trying to protect my feelings. Go by strangers.
