Is the AVG free adviser antivirus program reliable. Its free and I want to know if you can trust it. How do you know? Here's the website

You shouldn't rely on a single program. There are other, free programs that will work in conjunction with AVG.

I like EMCO malware destroyer, and Microsoft's Windows Defender.

AVG has poor detection rates. The free version does not come with the ewido engine that is part of the pro version. it doesn't shape up well against other free products, and should be avoided if you want to the best protection for your machine.

Antivir is the best free one I know of. Don't take my word for any of this though, what Im telling you is not based on personal opinion. check out the comparisons here

My opinion is that AVG is one of the best free anti-virus programs. It does hog your computer resources and I know that it works.
