Considering Jesus started the religion of christianity, before he was born, it wasn't a religion. Christianity follows the teachings of Jesus in the new testament. Before him, people who followed Judaism (the closest thing to Christianity) listened to the teachings of the old testament which were similar to the new testament but without the coming of the mesiah (Jesus). The closest thing would be Judaism.

In the first century, the manner of life that centered around faith in Jesus Christ (and, by extension, the congregation itself) was referred to as “The Way.” (Acts 9:2; 19:9) A number of translations of Acts 18:25 indicate that it was also called “the way of Jehovah.” On the other hand, some who were outside the congregation derisively referred to it as “the sect of the Nazarenes.”—Acts 24:5.

Christianity is the belief that Jesus was the Messiah. Therefore it didn't exist before Jesus was born. Jesus was Jewish so Judaism was the correct religion before he was born.

There was no Christianity before Jesus was born. Jesus was a Jew, and his parents were devoted Jews. When people started to believe that this man was the promised Messiah to the Jews, the son of God, then they became Christians. Christ believers are "Christ" - ians. People from Iowa are Iowans, people from Hawaii are Hawaiians.
