As I sit at my computer and stare at the screen, I am alarmed that I cannot remember the last time I was humble. Certainly, I have felt humility in the past few weeks as the Advent season progresses, I feel bad when I see homeless men and women on the streets, my heart warms when I see a child playing in the snow.
But humble? I think to be truly humble, one has to not feel that feeling. To be truly humble means that one is not proud of oneself or recognizes oneself as having done a good thing. Humble means not glorifying your actions as being humble.
Very thought provoking question!

When I watched 'Secret Millionaire' not the last one but the one before Bex. This lady was crippled, used a crutch, hadn't been out of her house for several years and when she could she went straight to the nearest hospital and volunteered to feed the patients who couldn't feed themselves. What a selfless action. In the same programme there were volunteers making cancer patients' lives brighter and helping stroke victims. My father died of a stroke and my sister died of cancer. I felt very humble and very guilty that I do not do any volunteer work. I will do once we have moved and are settled as I want to give too. xx

A few years ago I was working two jobs to get by. I was working one Sunday during the summer. My friends were at a BBQ and I was working at a store behind the cash register. The air conditioner was dripping water on my head like a Chinese water torture and I was feeling sorry for myself. Then I looked out the window in the front of the store and saw a bunch of paraplegic kids being unloaded by their nurses off a van. These kids couldn't move or talk. They could only sit in their wheelchairs. I knew these kids would love to be me even for one day. I was ashamed of myself for feeling sorry for myself. That's the last time I felt humble!

A few weeks ago bex....I was moaning to my Mum about my Hubby's bad snoring. My Dad was also a terrible snorer and she turned round and said that she'd give anything to hear my Dads snoring again and I should think myself lucky.
