What is the purpose of aspirating a needle injection for an IM injection?

why do we do this?

When you are injecting a medicine into the muscle or subcutaneous, you want to make sure you are not in a blood vessel when you inject, a slight pull back on the syringe plunger that shows blood tells you to move back or in deeper.
