my school is making me cut my hair because its too long. I realize that trying to keep my long hair becuase of some crazy religion is farfetched, but im desperate... also any thoughts on this plan would be helpful too. plan= join religion that requires no haircuts. Then when i return to school and the princepal tries to send me home ill just tell her that i cant cut my hair becuase its part of my religion. They then can not send me home due to my religious beliefs. my hair is saved!

Nazirites and Sikhs have long hair.

Also, men from Mary's City of David do not cut their hair, and were once very famous for their long-haired male baseball team:

Sihk's, some jewish and Buddhist sects do not allow for the cuttin of hair. ALSO...if you have documentation of lineage from one of the Native American tribes you can claim that and not have to cut your hair. There are a couple of others as well. The down side is that in ANY of these cases you would have to have a considerable amount of knowledge aobut the beliefs and practices and have to be ab le to fully explain how not cutting your hair fits in with that particular belief system, you might even have to supply them with a person of authority in that particular religion to plead you case to them. It would work for a while as they could not force the issue wile the investigation was going on, but once it was determined that the claim was...well...insincere...THAT'S when the real trouble would begin.

You could always become a Jew and take the vow of a Nazirite.

Numbers 6:1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of separation to the LORD as a Nazirite, 3 he must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or from other fermented drink. He must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins. 4 As long as he is a Nazirite, he must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, not even the seeds or skins. 5 "'During the entire period of his vow of separation no razor may be used on his head. He must be holy until the period of his separation to the LORD is over; he must let the hair of his head grow long.

Sikhism and some Jewish sects.

However, Sikhs also have to wear a turban, which could be a problem, but you can just take it off when you get home.
