Because a person can be the prettiest person in the world, but have the ugliest personality ever. Beauty is only skin deep because it doesn't define how the person is inside. A true beautiful person has a wonderful personality and isn't to bad to look at, either.

Well beauty or ugly as far as looks go really is only skin deep. I worked in surgery for 6 years and believe me we all look just about the same under our skin, pink, red, and bloody! Now in the idea of what you said, no, know one wants to be with someone they see as unattractive but also what one finds attractive another may not. So I think the best expression is "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". That is more true it seems than "beauty is only skin deep".

It isn't, beauty goes beneath the surface.

Also you say could you be with someone that is physically ugly, but you forget that ugly is only opinion and while one person may find the person ugly I may find them beautiful.

Be a little more open minded.
