While it is true that animals do not need any clothing at all for they have fur, there are those from countries without cold wheather. And there are man-made breeds in which have always depended on human care.

It would help if you mentioned what breed your dog was. Knowing the breed, look up the origin and where the dog typically thrives in. For instance, a Chihuahua is from Mexico and would never encounter cold, so you will need to take measures to protect it, otherwise it easily can go ill. If the dog can handle cold, let it. Of course even short-haired dogs can withstand some cold for very brisk walks. If he's small enough to get indoor exercise, I think you can arrange only taking him out to the bathroom without clothes.

If your dog needs it, you can fairly easily train it to accept clothing. Do not just stuff him into a coat each time you need to walk him. This will literally give him more eason to hate it, and will prolong the learning process. Start by putting it on him indoors fro only a few minutes at a time and giving lots of encouragement and treats. After some days of this, he'll get used to it, and then you can begin putting it on him outdoors.

Yes, depending on the breed, smaller dogs mostly and thin coated need a shirt or an extra layer in the cold weather. He may sulk it will do no harm.

in case you're in the united kingdom, there's a shape now that broadcasts each and every proprietor would desire to furnish a canine with perfect care, look after, nutrients, veterinary scientific care whilst needed, and so on.and so on. so which you may desire to fall foul of this except your canine is in a good insulated kennel, and particular the way the temperatures are getting in the united kingdom this week, with another sort of heating. needless to say if he's used to being out, he will possibly have grown a thicker than commonplace coat which will help, yet his mattress would desire to be up off the floor (bench), and freed from drafts. And his water bowl would desire to be ice-unfastened in the process the day. If, as some Jackies could be, he's noisy available, fairly in the process the nighttime, you may desire to nicely be on the receiving end of courtroom cases from neighbours too. otherwise, lots as i'm merely in favour of canine residing different than in the residing house in the event that they're working canine, or in a kennel-set up (as in teach-kennel) the place there are numbers residing jointly, i assume he's going to be ok. i wouldn't think of a Jackie is inevitably an suitable outdoors canine. you may would desire to revise the place he resides, a minimum of in one day, whilst he receives previous.

Yes it is, if really cold, and I know alot of dogs hate them, but you are protecting the baby from the really cold weather, buy him or her a slip on sweater, not a shirt, less fuss and seems is easier to put on the dog....good luck

I have a miniature schnauzer and I put sweaters on him because his hair is very thin. They vet told me that it was a good idea to put a sweater on him in the winter so that he does not catch a cold.

I think you should get him to get used to it, later he will like it. The most he wears it, the faster he will feel comfortable.
