Isn't alcohol drying to hair?

It is a solvent that is often used to either dilute something, such as the essential oils from a plant (like lavender oil, or chamomile, or whatever is good for hair), or as an emulsifier to bring two ingredients together in a more stable way.

Alcohols do dry things on their own, but don't forget that when you mix two things together in a chemical reaction, you end up with one thing whose properties are different than the parent ingredients...so to say that alcohol in a conditioner formula is always going to dry your hair, is not necessarily true.

Its like rubbing alcohol, it helps clean your hair. There are very small traces of it, not enough to really affect your hair
