Dear Leah,
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to testify.
I serve a risen savior, not out of fear but out of gratitude for what he has done for me.
You are so right, non-believers love making God out to be a tyrant.
Let me tell you there were no atheist during the Viet Nam War. There was allot of praying going on in the those wet muddy fox holes. The toughest of the tough cried out to God. I have seen and heard things I would dare not tell about. I have been ashamed of some of the things that I did. But I am forgiven, and serve Jesus, and will continue to do so until he takes me home.

Jesus is Lord

Merry Christmas to you and yours

I do not live in fear of God. I live to serve God, because i choose to. He loves me and i have a personal relationship with him. I am a 34 yr old mother of 3 kids and 3 stepkids. and one relitives child. ALL TEENAGERS! Huh, maybe i should be in a mental facility...lol. I am a partner in a cleaning business, we do mostly construction cleaning. Its been kinda slow, but God provides. My husband of 9 yrs. is disabled. And have only ever been a slave to sin. which my Savior payed the price for. That is why i choose to serve him.

I once was into drugs and alcohol and was living my life to the fullest, so I thought..I wasn't happy.I didn't realize that my life was in misery and ruin yet within I was searching for the truth of life. I thought I could find it in friends but there was none. I thought I could find it in my job, my relationships, money, all was vain to fill the inner void I had within until Jesus Christ found me. I went into a local Church and heard the Gospel of Christ' unconditional love and I believed that what Jesus did on the cross was for me. He took my sins, my sicknesses, my pain, my misery, Jesus paid the price so that my life could be exchanged for His. And by my receiving and confessing Jesus has Lord of my Life, the change was made. In a split second, the desires to sin was taken away, I was baptized and the cleansing that I experienced was pure, I felt pure and the weight of sin was no longer on me. Jesus became not only my Lord but He became my brother and friend. He anointed me in power and He spoke to me and said, "I have a plan for you to tell others of my love!" and I have been doing His plan ever since and it has been over 15 years and I have not had the desire to smoke, cuss, drink, commit fornication, or anything that would put me back into the bondage I was freed from. God did the work in me and now He is preparing me for His coming Kingdom on this earth for 1000 years, I will rule and reign with Christ and What Christ has done for me, He will do for any believing person. But If I had not of received such great salvation, I would have split hell wide open if i would have died without Christ in my life to which I owe Jesus my love, my life and my crowns to which one day I will lay them down at His feet! To God be the Glory!

I love God, and He loves me. My relationship is as a son to a father. He does all the fatherly things to show me his love and teach me about himself and to show me the way in which I should go. As a father does a son. He has opened my eyes to the world around me and where I use to be hateful and mean, he has taught me love and kindness. Where I was ugly he has brought out beauty. He has done so much for me that I could not explain it all if I had a month. What he has done for me he will do for anyone who will accept his Son.

My relationship with God is, I feel, as a father and daughter. I feel weight on my heart when I do something wrong, and I feel light and happy when I do something right. I love God and would give up every ounce of dignity I have to defend Him. He is my savior and my friend. He knows more about me than I know myself, and more than I will EVER know about myself.
And I am a mere high school student. I do not do anything for a living, but I hope one day to be an author.
God bless and Merry Christmas to you too, my friend. :]

You don't have to clear anything up, I have no misconceptions. I was raised Christian. It seems that the "believers" are the ones with the misconceptions, thinking that atheists have absolutely no idea about god or religion when most of us were raised into religion.

I dont think this of everyone .. but I have come across quite a few who ask questions such as these ..

who claims that we need the 10 commandments to stay moral..
in his case .. its pretty scary if he needs to read the commandments to remind himself from right and wrong .. not to kill .. lie etc .. \

since our morals are more based on common sense ..

Well I'll say this much, if you live your life opposed to God you have a lot to be afraid of. On the other hand his kids don't have to be afraid of anything. War, disease, death. It has nothing on us. My relationship with God is a love relationship. He doesn't want me to be afraid. That's why he's got his arms around me. That's why he gave me a roof over my head and a good family. That's why I went from being sickly and depressed to healthy and full of life & joy. The difference is black and white. But if you've only ever seen black, how can you claim to know what white looks like?

Edit: I am a writer.

It seems that you have a great misconception of what all nonbelievers think of you. I am happy that you are happy with your life. I do not live it or want to live it, but you are free to do so.
