As an athlete I have a very fast metabolism and am hungry all the time. Although I usually eat very clean, I do tend to cheat once in a while, particularly during the holiday season. So just curious: how much if at all will a one-day binge set you back from an athletic/overall health standpoint?

periodic overfeeding can have a very positive effect on the endocrine system and on metabolic function. being able to do binge with out weight gain or adverse health effects is one of the many advantages to being an athlete with a lean body.

i'm 250 lbs in single digit body fat. I've eaten an entire Bigfoot pizza from Little Ceasers by myself in an hour and a half! lol

Binging is good for you actually it'll help overall. Your body adapts to diet and fitness, like for example on low calorie diets your body adapts to the low calorie intake by resorting to catabolism and your metabolism slows down, and by eating more calories everyonce in a while you can prevent it from adapting that way, so you can prevent plateu's in whatever you trying to achieve. If it's in moderation of course. Once a day tho is quite a bit. However it depends on when you binge, if you binge around your workout then it probably won't set you back that much, not noticably anyway.
