I ask this in sincerity: Those of you who are constantly asking this question or that question to support or rebuke one religion or another, do you gain something from it? Does preaching your interpretation of the Bible gain you something? Does rebuking another religion based upon your religious preference and its documents provide you with some kind of fulfillment?

I ask because, I read these constant arguments and I get that nervous, queasy feeling even though the argument has nothing to do with me and the quarrels bear no weight on my personal beliefs. I just wonder at the purpose of these debates.

I guess I don't mean nervous as in anxious, but just a similar butterflies feeling. The civil discussion don't bother me, but the rude ones, where people are clearly attacking each other, just make me sick to my stomach. Religion should not be a catalyst for hate.

Humans love to argue and debate their beliefs. One thing we gain is in here we have the self satisfaction of voicing our opinion.I have never rebuked one religion over another. The only fulfilment that we get on here is that someone may actually start thinking about what we have to say. You shouldnt be nervous from reading these opinions because thats all they are..just our opinions and as long as there is a world there will be arguements about religions. When you study history most of our wars were started because of religious beliefs. So the purpose is that in here we have a opportunity to do the things our forefathers wanted for us and that is to have freedom of speech and freedom of religion.May God Be With You Always

i sometimes find it funny.

but i'm a muslim myself. I don't go hostile with other's religion since "for you, your religion, for us, our own" (a verse in Al-Quran). so i don't bother them UNLESS, they are making negative statement of my religion, i have to defend not by rebuking them, but explaining the actual teaching.

A barrel of laughs and a wee bit of catharsis...why, that not good enough?
