There really is no universal set timetable in how long does it takes to get over a serious relationship. It really depends on how long you two were together, how you felt about each other, was marriage and kids involved, and how nasty was the break up. If all four mentioned was involved, it could take a long time to get over the loss of a relationship. Some people can never get totally over it.

When you get out of a long-term relationship or a marriage and want to get back into the dating game, do yourself a favor and take it slowly. Most of the time, getting back out there speeds up the process of getting over the one you used to be with because you are too busy sitting around pondering what you have lost.

Depends on how much you truly cared for her. I still am not over mine and it has been near a year. I loved her very much and cannot get myself to move on and it hurts everyday. The level of caring and how soon you move to someone else depends on how long you hurt......The sooner you meet someone the sooner you start the moving on process......

It just all depends on the person and situation. It depends on if that person is still in your life in someway and if you have pictures or any reminders of that person around the house. It is best to get rid of anything that reminds you of that person to help you get over them.
