It is not being sweet, it is being unsure and hesitant. Women usually like confident men who do not rely on being sweet. Leave the sweetness for your mama. Be direct, strong and fun with the girl.

I think giving her a card that has all this suggestive romance stuff is too sweet for the first date... Like roses or chocolates on the card... But a funny, flirty card is ok... I think... And be yourself dont try 2 be too romantic just 2 impress her... We can tell wen a guy is trying too hard.

she probably has never had the right experience with a sweet guy... no dont give her a card unless it is her bday or some holiday..just be yourself if she does not appreciate your sweetness then she is not worth your time...dont act like something your not...I have dated the bad boys for past ten years and I just found the sweetest man ever and he has changed my view on men and I love being with him.
