i'm 29 but never really let my hair grow out this much before. I've let it grow a little but never more than for a couple of days, a week at most. (my hair grows kinda slow at that). I'm looking for new ideas that compliment my youngish looks. I do think its about time i go for a more 'mature' look, but i don't want to look old, something i think a goatee or a moustache might do. To give you some idea of what i look like clean shaven, i still usually get carded when buying alcohol and even sometimes when buying cigarettes. i guess i have a somewhat semirounded face, normal features, brown straight hair, and green/blue hazle eyes.
I don't know if this style has got a name yet, but i've seen it on college students. it sorta starts at their sideburns and runs down in a thin line down their jaw bone. does one need a straight edge to achieve that? how would i go about it? (very new here, all i ever do is a clean shave).... or do you all think that particular style is gay?

also i'm looking for picture galleries that offer a variety of men's mustache/bear/goatee fashions to help give me an idea of what i might like. i can't find anything on google that is relevant.

That style is gay?? Who knew?

Have you ever thought about seeing a professional? Maybe someone that works on men's hair and beards every day? He/She might have a little more experience than a lot of people here.

It's very difficult for anyone to give personal advice like this without even seeing what you look like. Your own assessment may not be exactly the way I would see it. We all have our own ideas of what may look best, but it's you that has to live with it. We would also need to look at the material we have to work with -- the kind of hair you have, how thick a beard you have, directions it grows, etc. All these things really need to be studied up close and personal, and by someone that knows these things. There are also some questions we would need to ask you, in person, to get a better idea of what kind of person you are, and the kind of image you want to put forth. Together, you will come up with something that you both like.

"Don't try this at home."

and buying cigarettes are a bad thing. it's not something to be happy about(even if people want your id)
