I've been spelling a character's name wrong this whole time, and i'm almost finished. Instead of going back through and changing each time i used it, is there a shortcut i can use to change the name to the correct spelling?

Also, my headers and footers do not offer a Last Name Page # option, and that's what my teacher wants. How do i make it that way?

THANKS

Go to view --> Header and footer go to the type your last name and click on the # (page number icon).

If you are using Word 2007, click Replace at the right side of the menu in Home tab. If you are using Word 2003, Click Edit at the top, from the drop down menu, you should see Replace there.

I don't understand your second question, what do you mean by "Last Name Page # option" ? You mean you can't add headers or footers? If you are using Word 2007, click Insert tab and you should see the header and footer option in the middle of the menu. If you are using Word 2003, click Visual and you should see "Show header and footer" or something similar because I don't use 2003 now. Anyway, click that and you should be able to type in the header and footer.

Hope it helped

Press CTRL+H or alternatively go to Edit and choose Replace.

For page numbers, go to Insert and choose Page Numbers. If by Last Name you mean you just want your last name in the header, choose View Header and Footer and just type your name into the header. It will appear on each page automatically.

Difficult to answer your question since you have not said which Microsoft Word version you use.

I have Microsoft Vista on my computer and Microsoft Office Professional 2007.

If you go into find (which has picture of binocular) type in name you want, then choose replace all, type name you want to use, it will automatically change it all for you.

2007 version - Makes headers and footners and page numbers easy to use once used to it.

Plus Microsoft have on line demos. That tell you about these things in their various Word versions.

But name change might need to use word search as mentioned above Find. Then it should find each one for you and change them.

Allternatively, if name is spelled wrongly; then it usually shows up by squiggly underline, as you may know.

So if other ideas you have been given on Answers do not work - you could just do spell check and change them. It should not take long.

(Much quicker than reading all this stuff).

But; if the spelling of name however, you want to use, is not included in spell check dictionary, you can add it into dictionary: because it gives you that option.

Expect you have tried help menue.

Headers and footners: well; I am not clear what you are asking about them. I go into page layout.

But on my Microsoft Office Professional 2007 you can do all kinds of things with it.

You can buy this version on Ebay brand new for half the price.

Not sure about the headers but change a spelling:

Under Edit click Replace.
