I am an army wife, and i sent allot of packages over to iraq to my husband.... flat rate that is.. im just curious on how about do i go to send just a letter? like do i need a custom form for that too? how much is it to send a letter? I hope you can help me out

41 cents first class postage. All military mail and packages are sent at the rate for US postage to an APO, not overseas rates.

Just mail it like a regular letter. Put a stamp on it and drop it in the mailbox. Iraq addresses are APO AE (Army Post Office, Army Europe)addresses. The APO AE hub is in NY. So in actuality you are only mailing it to NY. Once it reaches the APO it then goes in to the Army Postal service with no additional charges. One thing you need to watch out for are retailers that charge extra for shipping for APO's even know it does not cost them any more then mailing it to NY. Avoid these con-artists. Hope this helps. If it's going to an APO address, it's a regular stamp.
