There is absolutely no truth to the myth that eating past a certain time in the day will make a person gain weight. If you haven't consumed more calories than your body needs, then you will not gain weight. As long as it fits into your daily calorie intake, then you're fine. Now, one thing eating late night may affect is your sleep. Any fatty fried foods may cause your stomach a little distress if you try to lie down shortly after eating. Other than that, nothing wrong with a little late night snack.

no that's not true, people on diet usually do that because they think they'll get fat since their body doesn’t burn calories when they’re at home or not working. You can still eat after 6 or even at 8,9,10 or so whatever time but be sure you have eaten already 2 hours before you go to sleep. By doing that, it allows your stomach to fully digest the meal you have eaten.

nope...nothing but highly inaccurate diet advice given by those with no real knowledge of human biology.
unless you are physically active after 6 there is no reason to consume carbs with diner or later. at rest the primary energy source for metabolic functions are free fatty acids. the body needs nutrients every 4 hours or so that you are awake in order for it to operate at optimum levels of effeciency.
eating later at night is all about making smart food choices. meals and snacks should be protein based with lots of veggies. if you are lean (lower than average body fat) then there would be no problem with some healthy carbs at night

You shouldn't eat carbs past 6. Your body thinks that it needs energy and you won't sleep well, plus you won't burn them and then your body stores them as fat. It's ok to eat green vegetables and protein.
Definitely don't eat fruit! It ferments in your stomach. Read the book Body By God.

yes, it is true. get the book by Dr. Oz, he's alway's on Oprah. it's about weight management. it will explain it to you in very simple terms. since i have not been eating after 5pm for over 2 weeks and i'm losing weight faster than when i ate the same amout, but after 6pm. i'm a night person, so it's been kind of hard. just drink water. i make sure i eat my biggest meal, breakfast, before 9am. lunch at 2pm. and dinner by 5pm. best wishes.
Dr. Oz, a doctor, who will explain the anatomy & physiology of how the body works. i used it for my class this semester.
biology won't help you with this one.

there really isnt a time that you dont eat after it's just that you must stop eating 2 hours til when you go to sleep. b/c if it hasn't fully digested the food sits in your stomach and im thinking it just adds to your body. its called the sumo wrestler diet [sumos eat right before they sleep to gain weight!]

well, its more like 7 or 8
one time i have heard 9
when you eat late, all the blood goes to your stomach during the night instead of going to your brain where it is supposed to
somehow this ties into getting a good nights sleep and gaining/losing weight

It is best not to, but if you are hungry it is perfectly fine to have a light snack like some pretzels or a piece of fruit.
