Um no. It's a disease, that's like saying "depression" should be illegal. Additionally, some people just stick with it b/c therapy doesn't work - that's their business and nobody elses.

How do you make a psychological condition illegal?
Anorexia nervosa is where a person has an unrealistic body image and believes they are overweight when they are clearly not. It can cuase severe malnutrition, disability and sometimes death. This happens because the sufferer truly sees a fat person in the mirror! So my question again is how can you make this psychological condition illegal?

OMG NO, you can't enforce that. It's like trying to make homosexuality illegal... come on now. Anorexia is a psychological condition. Being OCD should then be illegal.

well, no that a stupid idea really, because don't people do drugs, and break the law, as if people are going to stop being anorexic because of a stupid paper, or law that says it's illegal.. Anyway, what made you ask this question, i'm not being rude, just wondering, that's all.
plus i'm an ana so you know my answer, but i wouldn't mind it being illegal, at least there might be some chance of overcoming it.

anorexia is a disease, not something people choose to bring upon themselves. It is a mind disorder in which one sees themselves as being fatter than they really are, and then starves their bodies to lose weight. With that said, I don't think it is possible to make a disease illegal...

i dont think laws should get thrown into the mix. its hard enough for them to have this disorder. being in jail when u weigh 90 pounds wont be of any help.it being illegal wont be a deterrant to future cases of anorexia. they will keep doing it. just like the death sentence doesnt deter murderers.
