I daydream way too much! For example, I will be sitting in class, and I will start daydreaming and I will catch myself and it will be like 5 minutes later. Most of this happens in class. I dont know whats wrong. And its weird, like im trying to get out of the daydream but I cant. It's like I cant control it. Is there anyway to stop this? What is wrong with me? Thanks, and yes I do get enough sleep, so this isnt sleep-related.

It's not ADD, Or ADHD. No doctor has ever said I may have any of that.

what are you daydreaming about? is it about something that you want to happen or wish would happen? if it is, try making it happen. if you take risks to have what you want, your mind will be satisfied and not try to "get" it another way * daydreaming*

if that doesn't help just keep yourself busy. i know it sounds hard, but if you try, it doesn't. and just know that a little daydreaming isn't bad. it relaxes your brain. so just daydream at night as you are trying to sleep.

good luck.

You are in school so are apparently young. I day dreamed a lot as a child, teen and young adult. It is not a mental disorder. You do it because you find what is going on in your environment (like a droning lecture) is not sufficiently stimulating so imagine scenarios more exciting and satisfying. It is not anything to be worried about I think unless it becomes more continuous and trance like.

The only way to stop it that I know of (and why would you want to stop it if it is entertaining?) is to change your environment or do something that will make you more interested in what is happening around you. The fact that you have an ingenious and vivid imagination is competing with the environment to gain your willful attention. So your willing yourself to stop thinking along the lines of a daydream and pay attention to that "dumb boring professor" is all important.

Good luck with your boring classes, good mental health, peace and Love!
