My dog is 1.5 years old, he is a puggle (pug/beagle mix) he was always a very healthy weight. I have noticed that he seems to be thinning down A LOT i've tried giving him 3 different brands of dog food and he will eat them eventually, he seems hungry all the time, and will have food in his dish but won't touch it until he has to. We just had a baby and the dog has a habit of stealing his binky's and chewing on them do you think he could have eaten something off the binky and that could be causing him to lose weight? Or maybe he is just feeling under the weather. I figured i'd ask on here before calling the vet tomorrow morning. Thanks

He has been having regular bowel movements. And I have only changed his dog food so much recently to see if he just lost interest in the brand we were giving him. Also, Our baby is turning 8 months old thursday so I doubt he is acting this way out of jealousy (he still sleeps at the foot of my bed!) But thank you all for your sincere answers they are much appreciated, but I think I am going to be calling the vets first thing tomorrow.

My cat was like this, we went to the doctors and found out it was because he had constipation, so yeah maybe get some special chews of this?? or pills to put in a tasty snack (aka ham or something that might be a real treat for your doggy)

I hope your dog get better soon!!
:o)

Maybe he ate the binky????
Calling the vet is a good idea.
Also, ask you vet if putting some Nutrical on his food will do any good. It's good for putting weight on dogs and also a good supplement.

Get him to a vet. He could have a blockage somewhere.

A dog that age should not be disinterested in food. Something is definitely wrong.

If he's been chewing up things, he could potentially have a blockage. Has he been having any bowel movements? I would certainly get him to a veterinarian and possibly have a radiograph done.

there are many things that could be wrong with your pug mix. could have eaten something. could be picky because his food is being changed all the time. could be picky because he doesnt have a regular feeding schedule. could have a virus. could be depressed about the new baby.

a trip to the vet is in order.

It could be a number of different things or it could be nothing, but I would strongly recommend that he sees his veterinarian for a check up. Good Luck.
