When i'm not sleeping, all i want to do is eat, stay engrossed in TV programs and think about how good it would feel to go back to sleep.

Do you notice this more in the winter months? If so you may have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) which is caused by lack of sunlight exposure.

Start to take vitamin D with calcium, exercise daily, don't eat sugary foods or drink alcohol (both depressants), limit fatty foods and carbs.

Try to sit in the sun for 15 minutes a day or get a natural sunlight bulb or light box which you sit in front of for around 20 minutes in the morning.

You might have a clinical depression. The exact same thing happened to me, and they told me i had a clinical depression. Maybe try taking some st johns wort? Or (if you have health insurance), see a professional.

Sounds like SAD to me. Get yourself a full spectrum light and use it as directed. It will help you until the days start getting longer again.
