Well now, that depends on who they are and what they have done, and what kind of help they are looking for! This is too broad a question to really answer. Specifics might help.

What sin did this person commit?
Go 2 the Rock of our salvation, go 2 the Stone that the builders rejected, go 2 the Mountain & that Mountain will stand by them, go 2 the 1 who walks on the water, who turns the water 2 wine, go 2 the light, the way.
Repent 2 God & the person they sinned against.

Often times you are some one they trust not only as a friend but they are trusting you with their spiritual welfare. Depending on the sin you should help them start the repentance process and guide them along the path to healing. They may if the sin was bad enough need help from someone in authority in your church, you should also support them then as well.

Talk To Jehovah
Then Go to the Elders, They Want to Help;;
(James 5:13-20) 13 Is there anyone suffering evil among YOU? Let him carry on prayer. Is there anyone in good spirits? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is there anyone sick among YOU? Let him call the older men of the congregation to [him], and let them pray over him, greasing [him] with oil in the name of Jehovah. 15 And the prayer of faith will make the indisposed one well, and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore openly confess YOUR sins to one another and pray for one another, that YOU may get healed. A righteous man’s supplication, when it is at work, has much force. 17 E·li′jah was a man with feelings like ours, and yet in prayer he prayed for it not to rain; and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the land put forth its fruit. 19 My brothers, if anyone among YOU is misled from the truth and another turns him back, 20 know that he who turns a sinner back from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

I'd say 1) Ask forgiveness from God and whomever he hurt. and 2) Get into a mindset that will keep him from doing this sin again, then 3) (and most important) LET IT GO and move on with your life.

I usually cry with them, hold their hands and read a scripture if they want me to , Be their no matter what happens - private or public reproof and even with disfellowshipping.

I encourage them that they are forgiven if they repent.
And pray with them.
