If you itemize and paid an ad valorem property tax on the car, you deduct it there. And if you elect to itemize State sales taxes instead of State income taxes, you may add the sales tax paid on the car to the table amount for the sales taxes in the instructions for Schedule A.

If you don't itemize, no deduction.
