Peter Gabriel from the "So" Album
song: "Big Time"
I'm on my way, I'm making it
Big Time...
And I will kneel to my Big God
Cause I need him in my Big Church...
Big Time...
And my Heaven will be a Big Hell
And I will walk through the Front Door
Big Time

That was one of the number one reasons I left Christianity. The turning point for me was thinking about what would Heaven be like? What kind of heaven would it be like without those whom you loved most? What type of heaven would it be like if you can’t even remember those you loved because God erased your memory? You surely wouldn’t then be able to remember anything at all about your life here on Earth as a result. You wouldn’t be the same person you are now because all the things that make us who we are would be striped from you. What makes us who we are is our memories and past experiences. So really what's the point? *You* would not exist in this heaven, only a zombie version of you with no memories.
Heaven seems like a fate far worse then hell. For me, the worst thought is having a afterlife were you are separated from your loved ones.

I'd rather be in Heaven with God and Jesus Christ and the ones I love who did make it than burn in Hell with the ones who didn't.
Sure, it's a sad though, but the alternative is sadder.
Even if it's hard, we can't let others drag us down.

That is why Christians try to reach out and tell others about Jesus. We don't want to be alone up there. But the concept of Heaven isn't what Hollywood makes it out to be. Heaven is the payment for our work here. It is the reward at the end of the road. A true Christian wants to go to Heaven to be with Jesus and God not for the great pleasures of Heaven that are there.

Consider the scenario where your most beloved person in the world, such as your spouse, or your child, was burning in hell...
The knowledge that that loved one is being tortured eternally would effectively make my "heaven" hell. Not sure about anyone else.
In fact, it would make me resent any god that would treat that person that I loved so much in such a way.
No matter how you looked at it, there's no way heaven would be perfection, or that it would be a place of peace and love, if you existed with such knowledge.

well Marky... let me assure you that you are wrong we will recognize others in heaven, but there is no sorrow in heaven, no pain, etc. Maybe you left out one important fact God is and will be all that we seek. Better is 1 day in his courts than a thousand days elsewhere. Remember that OK

When I was about 6, I asked my mom what heaven was like. She said, "In heaven you win every game of checkers, and so does the other person." I have been displeased with the idea of heaven ever since.

In my religion, sinners get beer and strippers too, just not of the same quality. Perhaps more people should join. I mean, that's how many people started worshipping Christianity in the first place, fear of punishment, right?

Those in Hell have been given justice. Would it please you to know Hitler was never given justice, that he got away with what he did! If God gave you justice, would you go to heaven or hell? Are you willing to risk your eternal life because you do not understand heaven?

I find it interesting that many feign the desire to do nothing but worship God throughout eternity.
